This competition ran finals like the majority of the midwest does.

I'm sorry, I meant it was different for Virginia. I am aware we are really the "different" ones.

I liked the finals format because it's something different. I wouldn't want all of our competitions to change, though...I think each competition has it's own unique mark.

I really liked the directors going on stage to pick the performance order with the giant envelopes. That was FUN!

this is from the Richmond Times-Dispatch....

"The showmanship judge, who asked to remain nameless, made this brief comment.
'It's great to be back. I still feel i'm at the top of my game." And that he was...."

i don't think i could have said it any better. lol.

What day was the Competition in the News Paper? My mother has been out of town on bussiness and my father is turkey hunting so neither have called me and gossiped about it lol.

Did anybody actually take a picture using the LifeTouch guys or the big Hollywood Banner they had up?

I wish more people had stayed for the Finals... It wasn't as exciting as I feel like it could have been...

That video made me crack up, so kudos to Chavis. Mom.... Mom... Mommy... Lois.... Mama.... Mama.... LOL!!

I would like to formally apologize to everyone in attendance for the behavior of a good chunk of the kids from both Matoaca groups in today's competition: Accordance and Vocal Ensemble. They behaved atrociously, and those of us who behaved well were quite embarrassed by their actions. I am so very sorry. All that random screaming you heard? That was them. I am sorry. Inappropriately timed laughter? I am sorry.

Be very wary about this stage, show choirs... it's a difficult space. I would highly recommend the person who is allowed on stage before the timer starts be VERY well prepared with the needs of each particular group.

Congratulations Hanover, James River, and all other groups who were a part of this new addition to Virginia's Invitational lineup! Break a leg, Show Choirs!!

So all I remember hearing for Friday results is:

Best Rockapella: Hanover Voice Male
2nd Place Rockapella: James River Priority Male
Best Womens Ensemble: Hanover Womens Chamber
Best Chamber Choir: Hanover Chamber Singers
2nd place Chamber: James River Chamber Ensemble

I know Chris McGraw and Madison Sorah from Hanover both got best soloists in 2 different divisions, which... who knows.. lol

And I know they got some best vocal quality awards....

Congrats Hanover!!!!
