My apologies! I was told it was her. Congrats to her on the award!

Hi! The best female soloist was actually not from MTZ it was a girl from Mehlville! Miranda and I just competed again in the solo competition finals which turned out to be less of a "finals" type thing and more of a "the three winners" kind of thing! I think that is where the confusion came from!

I heard Mt. Zion won. But that's all I have. With vocals, costumes, and set design.

So there were classes here… this competition is going down as my least favorite in terms of adding information. I mean that lovingly, of course.

Alright, this is what I've pieced together from Mt. Zion's facebook and some friends who are there:

Class 1A Champion: Crete
Class 2A Champion: Mt. Zion
Class 3A Champion: Pekin
Best Costumes: Mt. Zion
Best Combo: Crete
Best Male Soloist: Shea Perry (Pekin)
Best Female Soloist: Miranda Richards (Mt. Zion)
Best Tech Crew: Mt. Zion

There's also a solo finals with 3 finalists: Miranda Richards (Mt. Zion), Brandon Lane (Mt. Zion), and a girl from Crete who's name I don't have. Please add if you know more!

The finalists are (in performance order):
Crete-Monee "Faces"
Pekin "Noteables"
Mt. Zion "Swingsations"
Crete-Monee "Cavaliers"

Other than that, I've heard nothing about prelim results.

Alright, this contest has been updated with the info Nick and Steven provided. Thanks for helping out since this competition has so little known about it! Which leads me to question the divisions especially now that there are 3 women's groups. Is there a women's division now? And if so, why are the women's groups performing in the middle of all of the mixed groups?

This competition…..

Awesome to hear that Crete-Monee is joining! I'm pretty sure this has jumbled up the performance schedule. The CMHS Choir Website lists performance times for the "Cavaliers" and "Faces" which conflict with the previous schedule. So I assume there is a new one floating out there somewhere… anyone have it? Also is there now a women's division or all still one general division?

I'll take a shot at a prediction:
GC: Mt. Zion (Sweep)
1RU: Pekin
2RU: Mt. Zion Girls
3RU: Springfield

Of course, since it's still a bit early and with last Saturday being a bit messed up with the weather, this could totally be different. It's anyone's ball game, but I think it's safe to go with Mt. Zion here as the GC.

Thanks for this, Steven. Since there are only 9 competing choirs and only one women's choir, are there even separate divisions? Or is this all just one open division?

I think this is all one division
