The dates have been different for the last couple of years. In 2006 it was in April then in 2007 and 2008 I think it was both the first week of February and this year it was the last week of February.
i hope they have this competition early in feb next year!

Everyone still got to compete and everyone still got praise for competing, lets just leave it at that and stop complaining because a group decided it was in their best interests to compete in Varsity instead of Championship Mixed...
I had a great time this weekend, how about everyone else?!
No, Loveland didn't deserve their finals bid, because they shouldn't have been in the varsity division at all. It's even shown in this thread that they were originally in the championship division and then dropped for no apparent reason. The varsity division was a joke. It should have been between Whiteland and Norwell.
Norwell was first in Vocals, all judges but one placed them in 2nd. He placed them in fourth, which somehow landed them in third. It was confounding, honestly. Loveland was good, though, and probably deserved their finals bid.

There were 5 different states represented in Finals, which I think is really cool. That may be sort of common in the MidWest, but it's not that way in the South (usually 2 states... Alabama and Mississippi).
