Garfield really stepped it up during finals, I see the judge's point of view. Congrats to everyone, I had a fantastic time and loved seeing the performances. One of my favorite competitions, the atmosphere is so much fun.

Thank your for saying that. Antwon is right, it's just show choir. It's just 2 points. We all win. No one really got robbed. However, the person who first said Medina got robbed said this because Medina's former director placed them in 3rd in the finals. That may or may not have been where Medina really deserved to be put, but the fact of the matter is that Garfield won, and Medina won't have to deal with any of this drama anymore if it's just thrown out! Woo.

I think everyone should let be a dead subject....NO ONE GOT ROBBED...the judges at night thought Garfield Heights where the victor...it was only a 2 pt difference between the groups so it was obviously a very close race. Congrats to Garfield on a hard fought win, and congrats to Medina on a wonderful season I know you were hoping to take this one home but it didnt fall in that manner. you should be very proud of the season you had considering how young this group is. I am proud of both of you....you both have worked sooo hard!

On a side note alumni of medina please dont open cans of worms that although you dont mean it to it does reflect on the sportsmanship of Medina. Great champions are those who are gracious losers....remember that!!!!

Best,

Antwon

Anyone have a comment on Edgewood's final show compared to their daytime preliminary show?

I didn't see them perform during the day but I thought their night show was good. The first soloist was good (the one in the Lion King). I was sort of surprised where they were...I was guessing them higher in the placing.

I volunteer at the competition every year. After the day competition, I thought it was going to be a race between Medina and Hurricane during the finals. HOWEVER, Garfield Heights totally brought it at the night performance. They looked like a different choir. Their coreography was on point, and their vocals were incredible. They easily deserved the final trophy. Bravo!! On a side note, my personal favorite choir of the day was the choir who did "Trouble" as their theme. I can't recall their name, but they looked like they were having so much fun. Their soloist got the best male soloist trophy, and he deserved it. Their rendition of Bridge over Troubled Water was great, and I really enjoyed the Chain Gang portion. Great Job guys!! I wish more choirs would go back to the traditional themed sets. There were quite a few choirs that had no theme and they just aren't as fun to watch. Great Job to all of the choirs in attendance!!

i agree with who ever said medina got robbed. i understand it just a competition, but gh had there spotlight at grove city last three years. i think medina should of had thiers. i really dont mind gettin fifth this year cause we did all we could od. but it is what it is. i am really proud of middletown. they did awsome and i support them all the way. but medina should of had it especially since gh went first at night. but it is what it is and i dont think people that graduate should get on here and dog on those who say their opinion about how stuff should of turned out. but it aint nothin to get so mad about. remeber i believe your words were its just show choir. so you can grom up too. it is what it is.

I happened to be at the competition both during the day and at night. Congrats to all of the choirs who competed. This was a tough competition. Medina, you were incredible during the day. You deserved the awards you earned. Garfield (and all the rest of you) were great too. You were incredible in the finals. In my opinion Garfield, you were unbeatable in the evening. Your performance was a world apart from what it was during the day. EVERYONE performed well in the evening but Garfield, you wanted it badly and earned a much deserved GC award. (No offense anyone...just my opinion!) I'm guessing it was close in the daytime. I think that the person who said Medina was 'robbed' of a GC because of judging should ask themselves........weren't these the same judges who awarded Medina all of the captions during the day. No one seemed to have a problem with that. The comments you made were incredibly disrespectful to Garfield. There must have been a valid reason why the same judges saw it fit to award the evening champion award to Garfield. I read their creditlals in my program and all of them seemed quite capable and compitent. Several of them judged my group when I was in high school. We didn't win but we always had a lot of respect for what they had to say. To the person who posted that ad I say....."grow up! It's only a show choir competition".

Nice job trying to hide your identity. Your first post as a member of "Aberdeen" in South Dakota?

It was a close competition..Medina was only behind Garfield by 2 points in the evening..and by looking at the score sheets, it was not just one judge that made a difference. From daytime to finals must have been different (I came to finals) because from what I've heard...groups performing at night were not the same from the daytime. Congrats to all.
