That is a part of our pre show ritual...to be quiet ad focused. No one is trying to be rude, I am a member of CG sound system and that's just how it is for us. I promise we aren't trying to be rude, just trying to fix a focus problem. Good luck to all
Unfortunately I was only able to make it to finals because I was also at Carroll, but what I did see was AMAZING. CG mixed was amazing as usual but so was Huntington! Very close if I say so myself. I was EXTREMELY dissapointed in how some CG performers were behaving off stage, however. I noticed some snotty remarks, language, hand gestures, etc. given to other groups. At Carroll, Pike did very well. Amazing opener. Best I've ever seen from them! But that is a different competition. Good job all groups. I was very impressed at both comps.
Couldn't agree more. CG had a wonderful show like usual. I'm in love with Huntington's set this year and I'm sure it was close.
But in regards to their behavior off stage: I will personally vouch for this and give my personal opinion. Going into prelims they were right after us and we all walked off and wished them luck. "Have a great show guys!" "Rock it!" blah blah blah and not a single person thanked us and more than a few people snickered or muttered under their breath about our remarks. They ALL ignored us. HOWEVER their crew, which I think may have been Debtones? They were wonderfully nice. They all said how beautiful our girls were and how awesome our suits were and gorgeus our dresses are. They were very sincere. And then strangely enough we were right after them in finals and as they were coming off stage they were all wishing us luck and complimenting and things of that nature. It was like a completely different choir after their finals performance...
The only thing I can gather is that they may have some sort of CG ritual to not speak to competion before going on stage or something? Like a "Don't break your focus" type thing? But that still doesn't explain snickering and rudeness unless they are just THAT focused and in character...but one that seems silly...and two their opener doesn't reflect that attitude.
I dunno. I'm rambling. Just my thoughts. ha
Some were quite rude but others were very well rounded and sincere.
@andymarie..... As a member of Sound System it bothers me that you saw some of our kids being rude, I cannot imagine any of our members being rude to any other choirs there...but I apologize for that. Those kids do not speak for the whole group, so I apologize on behalf of the whole group and am glad you liked our show.
