This was an incredibly competitive Regional with 5 choirs earning Superior ratings. Middle School rankings:
1tie - Jay M Robinson Middle School - Superior (named Champion based on tiebreaker)
1tie - Randolph Middle School - Superior
3 - Harris Road Middle School - Superior (.5 points behind champion)
4 - Hickory Ridge Middle School - Good
5 - Mount Mourne School
The top four middle schools advanced to the State Final. Our middle schools made a giant leap forward with a number of "innovations" new to NC middle school choirs:
- Custom arrangement
- Special effects with lighting
- Use of multiple large set pieces
- Costume changes
- Costumes with integrated lighting
The quality was exceptional in the high school division as well. The Regional Champion earned the highest possible score (while using recorded accompaniment) of 98 from one judge. High School standings:

2 - Grimsley High School - Superior
3 - Kings Mountain High School - Excellent
4 - Lake Norman High School - Excellent
5 - Mitchell High School - Excellent
