Diamond Classic was a great success. I enjoyed watching some groups from the side and sort of seeing the background work (band, crew, etc) of how everything goes on within other groups. I was surprised that Bradley Central didn't make finals. Now, I didn't see their show from the front but I heard what I heard from the wings of the stage and watched the choreography which was pretty cool. Their band was the best one I heard all day. Very tight and no "loose" notes or anything. I enjoyed what I saw and was sort of bummed when they didn't make it.
Auburn: I liked their show. Not as much as last year but I liked it. Band was pretty dang good as well, and their director is funny to watch while he gets into it lol. They sang a good bit better in Albertville then they did in Montgomery the weekend before. So no real surprise when they won vocals in my own opinion. Guys feature was funny too.
Homewood: As another guy said earlier I thought, okay this year is going to be over the top. MUCH bigger then last year. But...I was slightly disappointed. Still good either way but I was waiting for my mind to be blown, but didn't quite get there. I agree they should have won and they looked good and had a good looking show but didn't follow it a lot. Their director never disappoints with some sort of good show.
I didn't watch a whole lot of other groups because I was roaming around and talking to people but those are a few I made a point to sort of see. I enjoy seeing these groups change year in and year out. That's the joy of show choir lol.
I'm just going off that video. I know it's not smart but it's all I had. Plus I heard that Madison was ahead in prelims last week. I wasn't trying to make a statement.
I got the chance to watch a live feed of this comp that one of my friends was doing for a few people. And I know video is nothing like what you see in person but:
Auburn- I can completely see how yall won vocals. I loved the show and the dubstep! I have been a big fan of yours for a while and am glad to see yall doing so well!
Homewood- I loved your choreography. I was kinda let down by you guys this year if you wan't me to be honest. When I heard you were going to Cali to compete, I was expecting something bigger and better than last years! Also, your show seemed very similar to Clinton 2012 minus the box and book and all that. You still have a great show and congrats on your second GC of the season!
He was technically partially correct. They didn't sweep. And honestly, I see how they got beaten in prelims last week. They've had better years. But that's to be expected coming off the phenomenal year they had last year! Don't get me wrong, they are still great! That's why they won. But if someone, say Auburn, steps up their game another notch they will get beaten this year. But then again, maybe not. Because Homewood always seems to rise to the challenge!
I believe Enterprise has a different director than they had in the years you mentioned. Also show choir isn't about "winning all the time", lets just appreciate the musicality and creativity.
Enterprise does have a new director. He's good at what he does! I love their show this year! The new choreo on stage looks great! Vocals as always seem to be a challenge this year.
What is up with the enterprise esprits and encores the esprits always did great in 2010 and 2011 winning all the time.

Let me just say that this is one of the BEST competitions I have ever been to! The talent is outrageous! And I honestly expected to see Auburn Elan in finals. They were INSANE! Let me also congratulate Opelika on demonstrating extreme grace through adversity. The onstage lights somehow turned off in the middle of their set. Backstage wall lights were turned on after a few seconds and then the house lights were brought up until the stage lights came back on a few minutes later. But to the Ovations, it was like nothing ever happened! They kept on singing and dancing and not one even showed it on their face. You guys were awesome and so was everyone else! I can't wait for finals! BTW... my first time seeing CenterStage's show and my heart raced for like 15 minutes afterward! It was crazy good and I'm so proud of them!
