Stolba,
Thanks for the comments. What I appreciate about showchoir.com is the constructive feedback from people who actually know and love what they are talking about. We willare take yourit suggestions to heart. When youyou referred to thethe France song, was that the novelty number orof the guys song City to City? We want to make sure we fix anything that is a problem. West Liberty was a very balanced competition. That was a great example of "small school" show choir at its finest. Best of luck to everyone the rest of the season.

this is my first time going to a "smaller competition" but I had a great time! Everyone was wonderful and nice and was nice to see some hidden gems.

I caught Pella and Center Point Urbana during the day round.

West Branch- You were my first every 2A group to watch and I was impressed! It was a very fun show, you guys looked like you were having a great time up there. Choreography was very clean and very effective! I've heard of you guys a few times from SCC and placements but it was great to see you!

Dubuque Wahlert- I just have to say I am SOOO proud of my friend nick mcgraw and this group. It was his total vision when he was creating the show and it was wonderful to see. The girls were stunning, beautiful heels! And i loved the costumes through the whole show. The choreography was killer and I can't wait to see what it looks like in a few weeks at great river. The overall vocal sound was a bit lower then I hoped for/expected. but a huge congrats on a first time out and can't wait to see you guys later!

Heelen- LOVED the show. it was full of energy the whole time i really enjoyed the song selection. "Thanks for the memories" is one of my all time fave songs and it was great to see as a closer and i think you did some great stuff. And the guys/girls numbers were terrific.
Your ballad soloists were wonderful ESPECIALLY the guy. It was beautiful and you guys were WONDERFUL!

Center point urbana- that opener was awesome! is it your favorite song cause it seems like it. i felt your day round to finals didn't have any changes, still a very good show but i felt it didn't improve. congrats and hope to see you at Mo Show this year!

Pella- Very good job! The difference between day round and finals was huge. When i was watch the show I felt I knew who choreographed and it clicked and then found the program and was correct, LD Kidd gave you guys some great stuff. My biggest problem during the day was not being able to hear you guys very well especially during the "France" song especially the soloist but that cleared up at night. i would reccomend (kind of nitpicking) that during the guys song/when girls come in and they say "TV" some are saying "tayvay" and "teevay" and because you guys say it quite a few times I noticed it. Nothing major but something easy to correct.
Also I would suggest that when the soloist is up on the lift at the end and the group does the spins down to the ground maybe have the soloist "control" them by moving his hands as they are doing that, I think it would be a cool visual.

I had no idea how anything was going to turn out, it was very close between all the groups (to me)

Thanks to West Liberty for hosting a great contest today. Aca and Divas had a ton of fun, and we were honored to share the stage with some great groups today. It was awesome to see how each group elevated their performance tonight. For anyone that was there, love to hear your feedback on the shows.
