I hosted Sioux City East Headliners and their kids are fantastic! Their vocals are amazing and they have a very creatvie song choice. I love it. I also made many new friends and I am definitely looking forward to seeing them in Sioux Falls Washington!

Well Chris and Matt you beat me to it. Perhaps I shouldn't have texted you both with the information.

Good job everyone. Shows were all so very good.

We were told right before when Roosevelt performed that this was the first time they have ever made finals at a show choir competition, so at the award ceremony everyone stood up for them when they were called. Shows how respectful us show choir kids can be.

East - Good as always. Your sound is brilliant. Your choreo is tight and clean.

O'Gorman - biased but awesome job throughout the whole day. Time to step it up for East's competition! Proud of you all!

Aberdeen - Where did you come from? Awesome, awesome. Not the same Aberdeen I remember in High School.

Roosevelt - Good show. You could tell you were pumped being up on that stage during finals

Washington - I did not get to see your show, but I have the DVD from the afternoon performances so I will take a look at it, from the sounds of it you stepped it up a lot from last year!

Fun times. Became best friends with a Mom from Aberdeen that I sat by all day/finals. Random/Awkward show choir meetings are fun. Told her I would see her at Mitchell and she was PUMPED.

Everyone have a good night.

This competition will be in the auditorium at VHS. Awards will be held in the gym since our auditorium can't seat as many as are expected. (It think it can seat a little over 700!) I do not have a schedule yet. Mrs. Fisher hasn't told us that yet but I surely can find out!

Is this going to be in the auditorium at VHS?

Also do you have performance times for each group?

A show choir competition in my college town.. YAY!

Battle of the South Dakota Show Choirs except Mitchell.

+ 5 Iowa Show Choirs.

Fun.

If I heard right there are only 5 spots for finals if that is the case from what I have known in the past, I could see the following groups in finals:

Sioux City East - Headliners
Sioux Falls Washington
Sioux Falls O'Gorman
Sioux City East - New Sound
Aberdeen/Sioux Falls Roosevelt/Lawton-Bronson

You mean MY college town ;) just jokinggggg.

Ugh, this makes me angry that this and Heelan are on the same day.. Instead of heading down the street, I'll probably be traveling to the ghetto of sioux city to the quad state showcase ( lol :D ). Good to see this competition growing. Maybe by the time I'm a senior at USD it will be one of the big dog competitions. (:

Last year's results, for those curious:

GC: SF Washington "Classic Connection"
1RU: SF O'Gorman "Ovation!"
2RU: Aberdeen Central "Eagle Express"
3RU: SF Washington "Stagelights"
4RU: SF O'Gorman "KnightLights"

BV: Claco
BC: Claco

All these groups will be back this year, but final results will be a little more dynamic with the larger field of competitors. This year may start to put this competition on the map - Verm is a great traveling distance for a lot of the groups in this area.

There is only 5 spots in finals.

Sioux Falls Washington Classic Connection were Grand Champions last year, but it was a lot smaller last year.
