If you don't have the info already - go to tristateproductions.com. They did all the video recording for the Crystal Classic.

that was actually my least favorite aspect of the "Crystal Classic." i was attempting to carry on conversations in between groups and apparently i have the hearing capabilities of a 75 year old, so it made matters a bit difficult.

If you think about this competition it was definately the hardest in Ohio by far.

Just the finalists can be credited with

10 Grand Championships and 7 1st Runner-ups before this competition. All the Finalists had won at least one GC and 4 of them more than one.

Does anyone have the score totals? I heard Olentangy only lost to Marysville by 2 points? What about Marysville to Findlay?

I don't know the actual scores.. but I just wanted to make a correction and add something...
Olentangy only lost to Marysville by three points, not two...
It was a very very close match, and I commend and respect Marysville for all their effort and hard work!!
But I found out today that we just barely beat them in vocals and in choreography, however they beat Olentangy in combo and show design, by more than enough to even the odds..

Congrats to Findlay! We love you guys!
And Marysville, great show!

Fairfield was an awesome competition to watch. Possibly the best one in Ohio this year.

I can definitely see where the judges were coming from in their results (although I personally would have liked to see it go differently), except I do not understand why Piqua placed so low. I'm guessing their early finals performance hurt them, but I was very disappointed when they were announced 5th runner up. It was one of the best shows of the night. I also wish Marysville would have taken Best Combo. Holy crap - that combo is absolutely incredible. Nothing against "The Boingers" because they are amazing too, but man Marysville's combo was ROCKIN' in finals.

Findlay - Vocals were really good, and choreography was incredibly sharp and clean. The show was polished 100%. Congrats on your win.

Marysville - Again, the combo is INSANE. Very solid show. Pretty much flawless. I love the ballad, and I've had the closer stuck in my head ever since Saturday, haha.

Olentangy - Ah, I love Olentangy! Great vocals, very clean choreography, and really entertaining. These guys performed their show with a level of energy that was UNMATCHED by any group in finals. They show so much personality onstage, and honestly look like they're having the time of their lives up there. This was one of the reasons why I loved Olentangy so much last year, and they definitely still have that spark with this years show. Congratulations on a great season, I know you turned a lot of heads, and I cannot wait to see the show you put on next year, and I hope that special Olentangy energy continues to be your trademark.

Hurricane - This is my favorite Hurricane year ever. You guys do some serious dancing in your show this year. I know last year you got accused of being "all lifts" and "blocking changes" while five people pirouetted, and while I can't say I disagreed with that accusation, you guys definitely made sure that was not the case this year. Your choreography has conformed moreso to "regular show choir choreography norms", while still maintaining a "Hurricane flare" consisting of cool leaps, interesting lifts, and (not as much) pirouetting. It seriously is awesome. The dancing is so intense, I get tired watching you guys. The vocals lose some steam at the end but I think that's due to the fact that you have 3 intense numbers after your ballad (all of which I thought were the closer the first time I saw them back @ Cuyahoga Falls, haha). Anyway congratulations on a great season. I love the new Hurricane.

Teays Valley - I've seen your show a lot this year. The cages still freak me out, haha. But they do create a very cool moment for your show. Opener is one of my favorites of the year. Congratulations.

Piqua - One of the best shows of the night. I get choked up at the end of the ballad every single time I hear it. I love your sound, it's so vicious, fierce, and mature ... and the costumes, set, and show design is so innovative and, in my opinion, unbeatable. I really don't understand why you placed so low. You had just as good of a show as you did last week @ Northcoast where you gave Marysville a real run for their money. Anyway, it's one of my favorite shows of all time. You guys have turned me into a huge Piqua fan .

Congrats to Findlay on the win!!!

I would just like to say that I was super super impressed with Olentangy. They performed extremely well in both the daytime and finals performance. I did not really enjoy there show at the Marysville Invitational, but I actually enjoyed the show very much (except for the novelty, I just don't like them ). Everyone did a superb job, this was a great competition, and definitely worth the drive.

Also congrats to the Swingers Unlimited I am so proud of all of you. You all worked it out in the finals, and I was extremely impressed!!!! The intensity of energy and amazing wall of sound that came out during finals was AMAZING I LOVED IT!!!!

Also thanks go to Jeff Clark and all of the people involved with the Crystal Classic. The competition ran very smoothly and on time!!! Again congrats to all of the groups who performed yesterday
