Lincoln Southwest won Benton in 2006... last year (at Benton) I believe they placed 4th, behind Xavier, Kennedy, and Jefferson, and ahead of Prairie and Wahlert.
Uhhh.... Ummm.... Okay.... Now back to this competition.
did this really get bumped all the way to the 3rd page!?
This competition looks to be shaping up to be really good. I actually requested the whole day off so i could check it out, thank goodness i don't have to drive far either
And i'll take a stab at predictions for the heck of it:
Predictions (no order)
Dubuque Wahlert “Impulse”
C.R. Xavier “Xhilaration”
C.R. Jefferson “West Side Delegation”
Totino-Grace “Company of Singers”
C.R. Washington “Momentum”
Urbandale “Studio 2008”
The only group that i would add in that i can't say i have seen is Lincoln Southwest “Resonance”
but i remember them doing well a few years back, winning GC at Benton i believe?
okay, i know i might be completely positing in the wrong forum....but what is the competition called that is held in sullivan, IL on feb 23?? my group is going out there and I'm trying to find out if a forum has been started for that competition but I don't think it has.
Well considering tonight's results, this competition seems even more interesting.
Urbandale, C.R. Jefferson, Lincoln Southwest, Totino-Grace, C.R. Washington.. you could put these groups in nearly any order. Wahlert also looks like they are tearing it up too.

Kennedy will provide food items to finalist groups in their homerooms immediately after the daytime awards ceremony is completed. These items are compliments of the Kennedy Choral League. Since finalists, particularly early performing finalists, will likely not have ample time to eat in the cafeteria, this will allow your performers to have something to eat before they perform again.

The top six ranking choirs from the gymnasium performances will earn a spot in the Evening Finals. Finals will begin at 6:30pm with the exhibition performance of the winner from the Middle School division. In the event that the Middle School winner is unable to perform in the evening, no group will perform in exhibition, and the competition will resume at 7:00pm with the performance of the first finalist. The order of performance for the finals will be chosen by the directors of groups competing in the finals. The director of the group finishing in 1st place during the day will choose their performance slot first. Then the 2nd place group from the day will choose their slot from the remaining time slots, and so on. In order to facilitate this processbeing as quick as possible, we ask that directors accompany their student representatives on stage during the daytime awards ceremony in the gymnasium at 5:35 pm. The first performing finalist will be picked-up by their hosts at their homeroom at 6:25pm to head to warm-up. Finalists will begin their performance cycles 25 minutes apart, as indicated on the master schedule.
