It's funny that right away when a thread starts about a show choir event, the immediate focus is how people will place. Don't get me wrong I'm an extremely competitive person, but instead of worrying and creating controversies about peoples predictions, what if nearly every post didn't have something to do with a prediction. Whether the intention is there or not, the possibility of sending out bad "vibes" and disrespect can all come from all these silly predictions. Let's all just go out there and enjoy the opportunity to be with some AMAZING talent!

This is a personal opinion, I'm sure most of you will disagree but I just wanted to throw it out there... I've tried to post it before but I don't think this site likes me because it doesn't let me post... hmmm

(sorry Ethan Price, I only picked on your comment because of previous things you've posted on other competitions that may have been on ruder side of things, but this was directed to all who have posted)

Good Luck Everyone!

My Predictions: We're in for a great day

As you will see, Mr. Davis, SCC forums are pretty much all about making predictions. People get on here specifically to make them or read them. Honestly, SCC wouldn't be SCC without them.

Everyone on here was or is in some way associated with show choir, so they all know about the "everyone is in for a good day, performing their best, and having a good time" sentiment. No one is denying that. But people thrive on guessing and predicting. It's not just on SCC. Do you have an opinion on who's going to win the superbowl Sunday? If you do, then you're a hypocrite. We're all on here giving our opinions and predicting what's going to happen. It's not like we care if we're right or wrong (usually), it's just giving our 2 cents on the competition.

And as for whatever I said you took as rude, well, I'm not exactly sorry because it was more than likely true. But I'm just being honest and, again, giving MY opinion. And, again, 80% of the people on these boards give their honest opinions, too. It might not always be happy and heart warming. But more than likely, it's stone cold true.

Plus, I gave GINW 2RU in these predictions. With the line up here, how could you be disappointed in that? And I loved you guys at Omaha. You confuse me, sir.

Predictions:

GC. Omaha Westside (Sweep)
1RU. Davenport West
2RU. Grand Island Northwest
3RU. Grand Island Senior High
4RU. Norris Gold
5RU. Omaha Westside Girls

Honestly, Omaha is going to sweep this. Their opener is a bit awkward, but they're clean and have great vocals.
Davenport West hasn't been out there yet, but I think they'll do well here. Though honestly, I could see GINW or GISH place up at 1RU. GINW and GISH are both very good this year. GINW has gotten the nod so far, but I could see GISH overtake them given a lights out performance. Norris could probably finish above them, too. They had a great outing earlier this year. Fifth Runner Up honestly is a toss up, but I give it to Westside girls because of how good they looked Saturday in exhibition.

agreed. i think after seeing them at johnston i would give them a solid 4th with a possibility to get higher (depending on their performance that day). given i havent seen gish or ginw but norris is definately a group worth some talk

At other competitions I would prefer the 6+1. But here, 5+1 is good. Considering I believe Simply Irresistible would make finals if it were open.

ok fine. :-P but don't come running to me when a good group gets passed over for finals and/or SI doesn't even make finals.

cool. i think that is a good decision, though it kinda shows they only think there are 5 finals-worthy groups in the gym. i would personally go with 6 + 1, but i understand why they are doing it the way they are.

You know that's a good point. I would doubt that they would be eligible for finals then. Some places have the top scorer from the other venue perform first in finals (some as an exhibition and some competing) but I didn't see that on the schedule. I don't know the rules for sure, but I would highly doubt they would be eligible for finals.

"According to the letter I got in my email yesterday, they allow the highest scoring group from the auditorium (prep & womens groups) to join the 5 highest scoring groups from the gym (open class) in finals."
-Kyle Avery.

So yes, SI is eligible. Hope this helps the confusion.

1.Omaha Westside "ATSC" (sweep?) (best female solo, Abby Stewert)
2.GINW "14 Karat Gold" (maybe choreo depending on the judging panel)(best male solo, konnor davis)
3.GISH "Ultimate Image" (best male solo, Manuel Medina)
4.Davenport West "West Connection"
5.Ralston "Gold"
6.The Ladies of Omaha Westside (if not able to place I would give it blindly to Atlantic "Ambassadors"

No offence to davenport, I just havn't seen their show.

GISH and GINW could go anyway, but I think GINW has an edge. (p.s. GISH is the best I have ever seen them)

Westside.... can't say anything about them that hasn't already 'ben said

(I apologize for my misspellings)

So can anyone tell me, are the prep or girls groups even eligible for finals? Wasn't sure since they are competing in different venues at the school, and with different judges this year. Thanks.

lol I actually thought the opposite. I loved the opener and I thought the closer was awkward... Definitely clean, and WHAT A BALLAD!
