When I went to Fame NYC in 2009 it was 40 dollars for all day regardless. Also, girls groups were eligible for finals in 2009.
When I went to FAME Chicago in 2008 John Burroughs girls made finals, so I would assume as long as they are one the top however many groups being taken they can make it!
I don't think single gender groups can make finals, but don't quote me on it. FAME is inviting the winner of the single gender division to FAME Indianapolis though, along with the top three from the mixed division.

Hey, I'm the student who's signature you probably saw . Yeah, I'm captain of our mixed group and our women's group and we've been approved to go to FAME New York again this year, so Shepherd Hill "Illusion" and Shepherd Hill "Fantasy" will both be there. We're hoping to do well again.. last year at this competition Illusion placed second in their division and Fantasy placed third overall!
