Actually, Brown-Eyed Girl, I was looking at your group a couple of times. I was hoping that maybe you would get the hint that it would be nice if you would stop talking during the performance. You were so loud that even one of the adjudicators commented about it. Most of your group was outside and didn't even see Chanteurs, but those inside were not very respectful to us or to some of the other groups. I think that it would be great if more of you (and I mean all participants from all schools) would actually applaud for all of the schools when they finish their programs. I try to get my kids to respond to everyone, and even some of them are not very good about it. It actually embarrasses me.

LOL!!!!

mr maxson was trying to get the tracks turned up, as you must have seen, we did not have a band.

he would turn around every so often and point his finger up or down right?

yea. he was directing it to neil tandon *during new spirit* and cynthia lin *during chanteurs*

I am so glad we won first at my last competition ever...but I am kinda mad about Los Al's Mixed not placing.  I think that apple valley wll...sucked....and they placed over Los Al's energy...that stinks...Boo on the judges for that one!

" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Oh my....I don't think that we should go so far as to say Apple Valley sucked....Yes, I do think Los Alamitos did a great job, but I wouldn't say that Apple Valley was that bad...their show was kind of interesting--they did an Aida medley and a Lion King medley (which they seemed to be pretty faithful to), but it probably doesn't appeal to everyone's tastes, especially those who haven't seen the musicals.

I wanna say congrats to Esperanza and Arcadia for doing so well last night. Despite the technical hitches (exceptionally hot mics, and mics that were way too quiet, mics on podiums that were too close to the stage, etc.), you sounded amazing.

I Ihave one question for Arcadia...during both groups' performances, Mr. Maxson was sitting in the front row, right across from us. Well, during numbers that he didn't have to direct, he would occasionally turn around in his seat so he was facing us, and glare at us for a while before continuing to watch his groups. It was kind of impossible to read his expression in that dark a room, but in any case, it was kind of creepy. If any Arcadia people or maybe Mr. Maxson himself would like to comment on this, heh, please do. Cuz that was really strange.

Hey everyone. SCVA (DB's last competition of the year) is over!
The scoring was 80% musicianship, 20% showmanship.

The results for the advanced divisions are as followed (I think):

Adv. Women's
1st--Esperanza Vivace
2nd--DB Solitaire
3rd--Arcadia New Spirit

Musicianship: Vivace
Showmanship: Solitaire

Adv. Mixed
1st--Arcadia Chanteurs
2nd--Carlsbad Sound Express
3rd--Apple Valley Sunsations

Musicianship: Chanteurs
Showmanship: Chanteurs

I just want to say congrats to everyone who competed in the competition--we saw a lot of good performances, and heard great vocals this evening. Good job!!

Do you guys have any opinions or comments about the results (or about anything else that went on tonight?)
