I can't recall whether this has been posted or not. The Crystal Classic website is an excellent resource for those attending. It has directions, ticket info, schedules, dvd info, lodging, food, etc.

"Friends" will do a fantastic job at Fairfield! We hope that everyone does. We loved everyone's show at the competitions we have been to. Our performers are pumped, and paying great attention to detail. Findlay did a really nice show at Kettering - congratulations! Seems like we all should like each other, cause we are competing with ourselves in front of judges who make the final decision. We love everyone in show choir cause its such fun!!!! Too much mean in the world already " border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Not for us " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Here's my final thought i believe these groups will have the best shows ever and ill rank them in this order

gc: Clinton
1 ru: Marysville
2 ru: Hurricane
3 ru:Eisenhower
4 ru: Finlday
5 ru: Beavercreek

Clinton sweeps all

The reason why i didn't put piqua or fc or zionsville because i heard a couple comments from kettering that Beavercreek and findlay were only a few points away from eachother. I also heard that beavercreek has finally come out of their shell and putting on great shows. well this is just what i think. good luck to all choirs! Def. be attending this. wouldn't miss it for anything . . . . and is this compitition based more on vocals or choreography? anyone know"?

Findlay actually finished 25 points ahead of Beavercreek. Not sure if you count that as a "few points" or not.

sound quality pretty good? or typical for a gym?

i thought the sound quality was pretty good actually, despite it being a gym... plenty of amplification to offset such a big space, but complimented with acoustic curtains hung around the perimeter of the gym to reduce ambient wave reflections. can't speak for what it sounds like on stage, though.

based on last year's scoresheet (out of 240 total):

45.8333% vocals
20.8333% choreo
12.5000% band
20.8333% show

so it's just shy of half and half if you put choreo/show in the same boat.

This competition should be a very interesting one.

GC: Clinton
1 RU: Hurricane/Marysville
2 RU: Marysville/Hurricane
3 RU: Eisenhower
4 RU: Findlay
5 RU: Beavercreek/Piqua

Choreography -Clinton
Vocals- Hurricane
Band- Clinton

I can see Hurricane winning Best Vocals here. If I remember correctly, Hurricane won this competition with just Best Vocals last year, so I can see a possible upset. Even with Marysville defeating Hurricane this weekend, I can definately see a different out come at the Crystal Classic.

I'll definately have to make the trip to Fairfield to see this killer competition.

is the 'arena' at fairfield considered their auditorium or their gym? i hear their auditorium is really nice and itd be a shame for them not to use it.

it is really nice, but it's way too small for everyone. I think they moved to the arena last year. They used to just have daytime awards in the arena...it's pretty massive.
