At this point, predictions are ridiculous and impossible (I'm not taking away from those who did/will, though.) I am just ecstatic to go and watch all of these absolutely incredible choirs at this amazing venue. SCN is always good, but I have a feeling this year will be one for the scrapbooks.
At this point, we have at least this much for predicting:
1. Petal beat Homewood.
2. Glenwood beat Sullivan.
3. Center Grove beat Sullivan.
4. Buffalo Grove has an extended victory over Mt. Zion.
5. Glenwood has an extended victory over Homewood, Petal, Buffalo Grove, and Mt. Zion.
6. Homewood beat Clover Hill.
Still to come:
1. Homewood vs. Wheaton at Petal (2/28). If Homewood wins, they have an extended victory over Buffalo Grove, Sullivan, Mt. Zion, and Petal.
2. Mt. Zion vs. Sullivan at Glenwood (2/28).
3. Mt. Zion vs. Glenwood at Decatur (2/21).
Predicting finalist at this competition is like picking your favorite six children, but in any case...
Predictions (In no order):
Center Grove
Buffalo Grove
Hastings
Homewood
Glenwood
Mt. Zion
This competition will all come down to who brings it on competition day. Glad i'm not actually judging, that pressure would probably kill me. Good luck to everyone.
As we have all noticed...quite the extensive lists of competitors this year!
There a lot of groups that have stellar reputations in their respective areas, but show choir nationals brings them all together under one competition this year. A comprehensive demonstration of lively vocals, expert choreography, stunning energy, and a good time slot will get a choir through the first round. The second round though...AAHHHH. Y'all know that hundreds of show choir obsessed students will be eagerly awaiting the finalists announcement after prelims. Not to mention the wonderful host performance by Clinton.
It's a little early in the season to tell who will be able to make it out on top for this competition. I guarantee that every single one of these choirs will be pushing their limits and perfecting their shows to the 'T' in anticipation for a great weekend or show choir in Nashville, TN.

Still in awe at how many high caliber groups are competing here this year. It would be impossible for me to narrow it down to a final 6... Good luck, judges.
How could people even begin to predict the outcome here...
Surely it'll be asker to predict once we see how these groups do this season. Right now, there is no clear front runner and eleven groups that we can expect to fill six finals spots. By then, we might can bring that down to six groups since Clover Hill and Homewood compete, and I believe most of the Midwest groups compete against each other. Keep in mind that this competition is in late March, so we have plenty of time before this bloodbath.
