Now that the majority of these schools have competed, I'm going to put in some early predictions:
GC: Sioux Falls Washington
1RU: Heelan
2RU: Westwood
3RU: Bellevue West
4RU: Center-Point Urbana
5RU: Le Mars
Washington should easily win this one. They've already won a competition and beat Sioux City East yesterday at Vermillion's competition. Heelan and Westwood always do very well here so they'll be next up. CPU seems to be doing a good job this looking at their competition results.
I took Marshall out and replaced them with Bellevue West because West took 2RU at Omaha North's competition and more importantly (IMO), taking Best Vocals from two outstanding groups (SF O'Gorman and Ralston). With that in mind, I think they'll do well here. As for Le Mars, their show is fun, but they'll need to step up their vocals if they want to do well here and snag a finals spot from other groups like Marshall or Carroll.
Oh my goodness, WHAT A LINE-UP. Like Ethan said, this is one of the most solid line-ups Hinton has seen in recent years, if not in its existence! I'm going to go ahead and agree with Ethan and his predictions on finalists but picking Marshall out of the 4 randoms. I'll see if my schedule lets me go to this one, and I sure hope it does because this looks like one FUN day!
SO excited to see Center Point Urbana returning to this competition. They have quickly become one of my all time favorite 3A show choirs year in and year out.
This is probably one of the better line ups Hinton has had since 2009. Hinton consistently is one of the best smaller school competitions in the entire state and this year is definitely no different.
Early predictions on finalists, since a couple groups still have yet to even compete:
Sioux Falls Washington
Bishop Heelan
Westwood
Center Point Urbana
LeMars
Based on history, the above groups are pretty much guaranteed to be in finals. The last spot will be between Carroll, Marshall, Sheldon, and Sioux Center.
Also, Sergeant Bluff-Luton! I had been wondering why they didn't have a show choir... that seems to have finally changed this year! Welcome to the competitive world, SBL!
