And I've noticed that Indiana seems to be one of the few places that really pride themselves on strong female groups.
I would agree with that. Most other schools have prep groups instead of women's groups. This is probably most notable in Iowa, but many other schools across the nation use an advanced and prep format instead of an advanced and women's format.
It seems to me the true competition is in the Women's Division. With only taking 3 finalists, it will be an all out war for those 3 spots. And I've noticed that Indiana seems to be one of the few places that really pride themselves on strong female groups.
I'll take a shot at the predictions business I guess (as if what I'm about to say hasn't already been said)

Last year Zionsville and Carmel were each bested only once in their season in vocals. Zionsville at Pike (and Zionsville was a train wreck at Pike last year. The fact that we nearly got best vocals there still astounds me) Carmel at ISSMA (and NOBODY likes ISSMA or trusts their scoring system) and the results this season just confirm it for me. These two groups are the state's vocal kings, and really this competition will be a testament to which group can be the better "choir".
Also Zionsville is still a bit sloppy on choreo, and based on results from Carmel's first outing, I would assume that they also could use a bit of cleaning (not to say that they did bad, they just didn't get Best Choreo). So I still think Choreo will go to Ben Davis.

Choralaires are just killing it this season. I would say that CG is regularly the top Single-Gender group in the state, and the Choralaires handily beat them last week. It'll be interesting to see how the Choralaires match up to their mixed counterparts when they compete at Lebanon the week following this competition.
I have one question...I've been hearing from East Noble students that they are planning on having DeKalb at their invitational on the 9th. Are they confirmed here? I checked DeKalb's choir website; if you look at the calendar it's Jeff, if you look at the 2012-'13 season tab it says East Noble.
I just happened to notice the discrepancy and wasn't sure what was going on with that.
Either way, sounds like this will be a fantastic competition...wish I could be here! (Silly me had to volunteer at my alma mater's invite...so I guess if DeKalb will be there, hooray for me!)
ive never been to lafayette jeffersons auditorium and i'm just curious...is it going to be able to hold this many spectators? many of these groups bring a large amount of people with them for support. i'll be interested to see how smoothly the competition goes with this many powerhouses competing under one roof. on that note, i'm also SUPER excited about it!!!
