I just wanted to say how amazing this competition was. Everyone in the host group was so so friendly and inviting. It was so much fun! It was great to go 5 for 5 with our band and finish up the year with another GC. Thanks so much to everyone who helped put this competition together =)

The live feed videos are still up on their website, so you can always go back and watch Glenwood. Maybe they had a bad performance? I have no clue I haven't seen it yet.

Sorry, I didn't see their show, but I heard they looked good. But there were a lot of good groups there also, and only five finalists.

Did anyone happen to catch Glenwood? They had a fantastic season... so I'm a bit puzzled to see that they didn't make finals here.

I am puzzled as well. :/

GCS- you know how much I adore you and your show this year. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so so proud of you! This is such a sophisticated and well-performed show. I only wish I had been able to see it this weekend! You are truly an inspiration to me!

I agree. I love the show because it's performed so well, but also because it's kept interesting while still remaining "traditional". What an astounding job.

My thanks to the Mundelein technical team. I could not attend in person, but enjoyed watching the performances via the web. The camera work was excellent and caught expressions and performance nuances very well.

I hope this is an option that catches on in the future.

To Speedra,

Thanks for hosting this wonderful competition, the caliber of the groups performing was amazing. Please give your stage people a huge thank you from GCS. We bring a lot of stuff to a competition, ie. risers, lights, a large band with lots of instruments. Your stage crew bent over backwards to accommodate us. I know it wasn't easy, but they found space for our stuff as close to the stage as we could ask. Thanks to everyone again!

Congratulations to all groups who competed yesterday at MHS. The day ran well and the scoring was accurate. I think it was a fairly judged competition. The judges have expertise and experience and the ability to rank accurately. The auditorium approach to holding a competition has advantages and disadvantages. Seating was tight. Definitely at capacity anytime after 2:00 p.m.! But the sound system was so much more effective than when the event was held in the gym. As simply a spectator, I enjoyed being able to hear vocals and instrumentals clearly. The enormous 'RING' that can be created in a gym didn't really happen but softs came through as authentic dynamics and not over worked effects. That's, of course, my opinion. There were glitches as there are with any competition but I thought the groups that performed performed well and were heard and seen very clearly by the judges. I hope the 2013 edition of the Mundelein Show Choir Invitational is just as high quality of an event. See you on March 9, 2013 for an even better event. Thank you again, directors, performers and support groups!

Chill out I was just being dramatic

Is this how you really think you should be talking on a public forum to a prominent choreographer? Someone who helps support the show choir community?
Damon, the choreographer for a group that just competed AGAINST Waubonsie, was just giving them respect for their hard work and achievements throughout recent years. He always speaks VERY positively in everything he posts, ends with "God Bless," and all in all is probably the least inflammatory, most encouraging member on SCC.

Let's not tell him to "chill out."

Waubonsie has been, is now, and will continue to be one of the finest groups in the nation. I'm saying this as somebody with absolutely NO affiliation with their program, but just as someone who appreciates their consistent artistry and excellence.

It was simply a matter of three giants going head-to-head. Congrats to Mike Esser and LaCrosse for the amazing level they've achieved this year.

What happened to FC Singers? It says that their girls got 1st runner up.
Purely a typo. FC Singers got 1st runner-up, and FC High Voltage won the ladies division

Congrats to my Franklin Central folks!! To the High Voltage ladies, bravo and let's get busy workin' it out this week. To FC Singers, you did all we could ever ask and more and did yourselves extremely PROUD in a brutally tough line-up. Bravo!!! God Bless, Damon
