okay look it's a joke within our choir that what we say instead of prelims we say prelimbs cause of the saying "break a leg" yea i know its weird but its just as a funny. although i forgot no one else says it i understand but you did get a good one out of it i would have to admit

South Jones "Company" was in 1st place in prelimbs...

Was that prior to growing arms and legs?

South Jones "Company" was in 1st place in prelimbs. but as our 2nd runner-up curse lived on that is what we ended up getting yet again.. lol but we are all so excited to go to Fame Indy for Nationals. We are the only Southern show choir that will be attending this event. this is a great honor and privilege for us. and we hopw we represent the South as best we can

So, i tried to quote something, but it totally messed up. I too, am part of the RB show choirs, and I must say that City Lights definitely gave it their all at FAME. I think they very much deserve their spot in nationals, and we'll just have to see where it goes from there.
And courtney, I dont think you could have said it in a better way!

That was a great way of putting it. It was very respectful and mature. I completely agree with you. I think that it will be a learning experience for all choirs that go to Nationals because of the large variety of groups that will be there. I am very excited! Good Luck!

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure that I was able to defend my school but still represent them in a respectable way. =) Definitely! Even if Rock Bridge doesn't place very high - we know that it's going to be an incredible opportunity to see some of the best choirs in the nation. Coming from a fairly small town in the middle of Missouri, a lot of us (including myself) have not gotten the chance to see show choirs from other parts of the US other than the midwest, aside from watching shows on youtube. It's gonna be awesome just to be able to experience a whole new spectrum of show choir we haven't been exposed to before.

@The Ethan Price, I understand what you are saying, if given the option to go to New York or Branson, I would say most big schools would prefer to go to New York. I mean, I'm from Missouri, I understand that it doesn't seem like there is a lot going on here. But I wouldn't necessarily agree with you because Branson has attracted some big names in the past (Clinton, Fairfield, etc.) This year? Not so much. So I definitely understand where you are coming from. Here's what I think: let's not judge schools based upon where they come from, or how well known they are, but what they bring to the table. Without Burroughs and Clinton, sure, maybe it's not easy to find the definite "best in the nation." But Fame Nationals is going to give some more publicity to show choirs who have been flying under the radar. =)

Though I don't want to take anything away from Rock Bridge because they do deserve the spot they got at this competition, I also have to agree with Jay a bit. Fame Branson just doesn't attract big names like other competitions.

At Fame this weekend, Rock Bridge has really stepped up their show from their performance at Raise The Roof. (Keeping in mind, at the previous competition a member was missing and the entire show was reblocked a few days before attending.) We spent a lot of time and effort cleaning both shows, and honestly I think that when we came to Fame this weekend we were at a completely different level than at the previous competition. Show Choir is a completely different realm in Iowa, and my school realized that, and it was honestly a great learning experience for us, as well as a wake up call! Keeping in mind that this event took place in Missouri, I would say that the judges have different preferences than the preferences of the judges in Iowa. I mean, obviously a competition in southern Missouri is going to attract a different type of show choirs than a competition in Hollywood, CA. But that's what is going to be so great about Fame Nationals, because there will be such a huge selection of different show choirs. While it may be shocking to you, it was a stiff competition, and I think that Rock Bridge is definitely worthy of their spot and ticket to nationals based upon the level of energy and talent they brought to the stage at Fame this weekend. We were the underdogs, and our placement was an incredible achievement for both of our choirs.

Sorry, I may be bias since I go to this school, I just feel like it's my job to defend our choirs. I totally respect your opinion, and while you are right that the competitions were definitely at different levels, I personally do not believe that Rock Bridge made it to nationals out of luck, or because the competition level was "low." =)

Cause a group I've seen lose to an Iowa prep group is now headed to nationals. Obviously there were some regional competitions at different levels than others.

I can see why you are shocked. Yes there may have been better groups at other competitions but that is how it is every year. That being said congrats to all of the groups that performed and to those that placed high enough to get the invite enjoy it and Good Luck!
