Does anyone know if you have to pay to watch the show online? I was browsing the website and it took me to PayPal for $12 for the whole day.
Yes, the live feed does have a cost.

As challenging as it is to run a competition in NYC, I applaud the ambition of the organizers, and wish them the best of times. May your technical elements run strong, your choirs perform smoothly, and your live feed stay at 100% integrity so I can armchair spectate!

Ya know, for as much that is happening... I know that I am still having a blast! I have faith that tomorrow will be a SUCCESS! And if its not I know that I will be calm and collected and hope that others around me realize that it is better to be crazy in a good situation and calm and relaxed in a bad one. PLEASE STAY POSITIVE!

And good luck

I think people aren't really discussing these "issues" because the competition hasn't occurred yet and we all want to see this thing succeed for the show choirs who spent the money to travel out there and compete. It wouldn't be proactive or positive to do so now.

So confused. Everyone keeps talking about all of these issues yet no one is saying what they are...

"Hey I know something, so I am going to post in a forum and tell people I know something, but not inform anyone what it actually is."

Wow... there are quite a few snarky people on this topic. Considering this is the first year of this competition we should probably give it a little room for improvement instead of just hating on it from the first moment it is announced. Why don't we wait and watch the competition before we make judgements...

*cue the thumbs down*

well if you were here you would have a better understanding. We are all hoping for the best and telling our kids to go out and do great shows because at this point that is all we have control over.

Best of luck to all!

Another musical we use for our set! We use "Steal Your Rock N Roll" for our last number in our set.

When we were in NY, two members of the Memphis cast taught us the music and dance for that song, the exact same way they do it on Broadway. It was so much fun!

Anyone know what website the competition will be broadcasted live over? And if so does the broadcast start tomorrow when the womens groups begin?  thanks

The Single-Gender divisions compete on Saturday starting at 7:30. Tomorrow they are doing soloists starting at 9:00 a.m.

You can use the following two links:

www.finalenationals.com
www.watchfinale.com

A top tip for using forums. Always assume your question has already been asked and answered. If after a good bit of searching, you don't find it, then proceed with your question.

Haven't exactly read much, and I have no knowledge of the rules, regs, etc., but with that schedule, are there multiple judges that are rotating in and out? Where's the dinner and lunch break?

Would anyone care to give details as to what transpired? Enquiring minds want to know. Yes I know it's none of my business, that's why I need to know.
I don't know that it isn't everyone's business. Certainly, this shouldn't be treated like a car accident we can all gawk at, as none of these types of situations should be. However, as is the case with any experiences we have with competitions, travel, clinicians, judges, choreographers, etc., our shared knowledge can help make everyone's decisions more informed, and our experiences ultimately more positive. It's not about salacious gossip, but it is important that, should Finale go forward into future seasons, directors know exactly what they are signing their students up for, the good, the bad, and the coincidental. We're talking about a lot of time, money, and effort- each student deserves the best we as a community can give them.

"Steal Your Rock N Roll" is quite popular this year. Which is fine by me because I love the song. Ralston "RUSH" uses it as their opener, and it is definitely my favorite version. The male soloist is one of the best I have ever seen.

PS. I cannot wait to watch this Saturday

I am so jealous right now. You have no idea. Although we saw Memphis, and it was AMAZING!
