My daughter is from JBHS - she is a Burroughs SOUND SENSATIONS choir member, the advanced women's division, and she called me earlier tonight (I am at home in Burbank - we could only afford $1300 for her to go to Chicago! But I would have loved to have been there)  BECAUSE SHE TOLD ME BURROUGHS SOUND SENSATIONS WOMEN TOOK FIRST PLACE !!

So  CONGRATULATIONS to BURROUGHS SOUND SENSATIONS !!!

Other than that, there was so much screaming and noise in the background and it was a bad connection she did not tell me how any of the other schools placed.  Sorry I can't give you more info...

congraulations mom
was thee it was great and they did a great job.

if Buffalo Grove  wins i think i will hafta kill someone... unless theyve drastically improved since onalaska (which they probably have)  i expect EEE to win it just because i thought they had a chance of beating MTZ @ onalaska.  It'll be close between those two.  If SE Polk from Iowa makes finals, something is wrong... idk who voted for them but they are AWFUL!!!!!! im expecting last place or maybe 2nd to last from them...

I have not heard an awful show choir, and if I had I think I would have described them differently. I like the Headliners from IA. Good luck to this SE Polk from IA. I do not think I have heard you yet this year. Good luck to all. I know I have heard EEE, Mt. Zion, BG. I have not heard Burro and in my opinion it is going to be a knock out puch competition. It will be close with EEE and Mtz. BG may be up there in the fight but I think EEE wants it so bad. Mtz does have the best choreo and they sing the whole time they are dancing hard. Mtz has good vocals too. I am not sure why everyone likes to berate them? I have heard them at several competitions and have been impressed with them being able to sing while dancing so hard. EEE has the best vocals but they do not sing when they are dancing fast. They have a couple of slow songs and they do not dance while singing that do show off their vocals. Smart on their directors part. I also think they have one of the best ballads this year. The ballad is quite a long part of their show, with no dancing while they are singing they have the energy to put everything in the vocals. I think the audience loves it. When they dance fast they have loud music with no vocals. It all depends what you like. BG has a mix, and if you like cookies and your not tired of them? WHo knows?

It will depend on what the judges score sheets are like. It will also depend on the judges, who they like and who they do not. There are already rummors flying as to which judges do not like which groups. Ouch, remember they were hired to do a job, I think they will do it. Go judges. We hired them to be fair and honest, and just like the umpires at Wrigley we have to trust that they will make the fair calls no matter how we want it turn out. However, just like the judges at Wrigley if the Cards are playing the Cubs and the Cubs happen to win, we can always complain the Umpires made a bad call that made the Cards lose the game. One more statement then I will close. Remember the Cards and the Cubs are Major League Ball Players. Just because one team looses does not make them losers. Similar to the Choirs that make it into finals. They have all made it into the major leagues.
Most of you (us) in show choir had to try out to be in the show choir. You made it. You won. Then if you place you won again. Are you getting the picture. There is only one GC but there are 6 winners in finals and all that place can try again next competition.

Good luck all, I know most have already left for the competition but when you get back, I hope you remember the fun you had and the friends you made.

Thanks Judges, Directors, Moms, Dads, and siblings.

I WISH we were going to Chicago!!! that would've been awesome!!! even though we're not gonna be there it's still flattering someone would place us so high if we WERE there. so thanks for that! But don't underestimate Burroughs... they've got quite a bit of talent up their sleeves, and could very easily give Mt. Z and EEE a run for their money if they have an on night like i've seen them pull out of themselves. and yes i agree with everyone... if you miss burroughs ballad... you'll regret it tremendously... and AMAZING arrangement, and performed amazingly. Good luck to my burroughs peeps! and good luck to everyone else too! we saw EEE last year at showstoppers in Florida and they were pretty rockin... and Mt. Z just have that reputation... i haven't anything about Buffalo Grove, but from what i hear they're a force to be reckoned with as well... JBHS you've gotta WORK IT! Good luck everyone!!

here are my predictions for the top three:

GC: EEE
1-ru: Burbank
2-ru: MTZ

This is just my guess. I think it will be very close between these three and anything is possible depending on how well each of them peforms at the competition.

While Burbank has unbelievable vocals, EEE does much more dancing and, I believe, can match them in vocals. MTZ is also amazing especially in their dancing, but their vocals aren't as good as the other two(not that they're bad, just not as good). But like I said, it could go anyway among these three: I haven't seen EEE or MTZ for about 2 1/2 months so their shows could be very different now. Good luck to everyone, and have fun

maureen... i called the keynotes place last week and they said that they set up a table to sell tickets at the hotel that all the groups are staying at. the lady didn't say anything about being sold out though. but that was last week so i don't know. hopefully it won't be sold out b/c i really want to go to. unfortunately, none of my friends here want to come with me but i hope that info helps. you could always call the keynotes place to double check.

Ok seriously people...my friend and I were trying to get tickets in advance and supposedly they might be sold out!! " border="0" alt="crying.gif" /> " border="0" alt="crying.gif" /> I really was looking forward to coming home and seeing it! Someone please give me some good news and let me know what I can do about that....I've heard so many mixed things about how to purchase tickets, that Showstoppers isn't even open to the public. Could someone give me some info ASAP?!?!? Thanks... " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

We were told $40... if the tickets really are $8 to $10... I will be supremely pissed. Most parents decided on not going due to the horendous price of $40... and if they knew the tickets were $10 instead of $40... I know they would come. Too late now though.
