This was a pretty awesome competition for mooresville. Even though they got 4th runner up they were the happiest people there. It was their first time making finals in nearly 2years. And also the mooresville mads had some pretty amaizing room hosts, just sayin thanks pike for putting on such a great event

I haven't seen any of the show on MTV, but I do know from some people that were in the group last year that the producers wanted the group and members to "cause drama." Just proving that all shows on MTV are staged. LC is a very respectable program and I feel bad for them that all the national attention is causing people to become mean and hateful towards their talent.

That being said, FC got a very well deserved GC. Their show was my favorite by FAR. LC was very, very good, but to me, very boring as well. I'm sure they will do well at the rest of their competitions. Don't let a TV show start more drama. See the shows as they were performed, and not because of something seen on TV.

Well said, Courtney.

Fiercely said, Eric! Sending good vibes to you, Jena, and Central Sound for an awesome season. As a past president and a former student of Mrs. Adrianson, I can concur that Lawrence Central's choral program strives only to educate sutdents and encourage musicianship. Of course placements are always important b/c who competes to lose? I'm sure that LC will continue to thrive as an amazing show choir. I just hope that they dont get caught up in whats going on on this website and lose sight of the bigger goal. It's not the challenge your facing on the stage, it's the challenge within YOU to be YOUR best. Best of luck to every choir competing this season...

And "Let's go CS!"

I just started looking through the "midwest" forums on here recently, and from what i can tell, it seems like everyone at Lawrence Central loves Lawrence Central just a little too much...

Telling another choir that they "should have blew you out of the water" and that they should step it up since they beat you by ONLY 6 points (which is a pretty large deficit in any major competition) is just ridiculous.

The comment on TV which is what my daughter showed me first to introduce me to show choir that's NOT in california, would have already been forgotten if the members of CS, and their Alumni would show some humility, instead of trash talking.

As a CS Alumni and now a part of staff of the LC Choral Dept, we, our alumni, and our other supporters do take pride in ourselves. I'm sorry that as you've read through board threads that you've gotten the idea that we give off a sense of arrogance and non-humility. That is certainly not by any intention. We just, just like everyone else put in hard work before and over the course of our competitive show choir season. We were actually pretty satisfied with our final placement at Pike and have since moved on to improve for this Saturday at Center Grove. I do not know which student would make such comments regarding FC Singers performance and the scores that they achieved. This is not something that we encourage or condone. FC Singers as well Ben Davis Premiers offered us great competitive challenges on our first weekend out and we commend them on the strong performances that they gave.

The quote that was aired on MADE: Real Show Choir was and still is generally blown out of proportion by many people who do not really know the members of The Central Sound. We certainly do not sit around during class times and rehearsals saying such things. That quote was a direct answer to a very spur of the moment question that one of our producers asked during the interview portion of the show's filming. The student certainly wasn't going to say anything less. I urge you to think of what your son or daughter would've said in that instance? If you don't believe in yourself, no one will!

"Trash-talking" is not somethinng we get into at LC. We do however, get into strong performances and who does what it takes to be succesful on contest day. In my years as a member and now in my 5th year on staff, I've witnessed my students being congratulatory and supportive of all competing groups. I encourage you to not take a ten second sound byte, message board posts, or the words of one student as the general idea of how CS, Alumni, and our supporters all act. It simply isn't who we are. We want all groups to be at their best when it's time to compete and we treat everyone with the class and respect they deserve. End of story

Thanks, EH

your a little redic if you think that 6 points is a huge deficit. hahaha what?? its really not. and although i don't agree with the fact that FC should have blewn LC out of the water, i do believe there should have been a bigger margin than it was and fyi it was (2 points vocally and 4 visually i think) for a choir to have gone to 3 comps already their show should be pretty good vs a choir who just went out. 6 pts out of a possible 400 is a huge deficit? hmm somethings not adding up..... FC did incredible as usual and LC is only rising as are the other groups like BD and Mooresville who were at that competition the season will be a good one!! so excited!!

And it is redic that it is. Do people not understand being competitive and if you want to be the best you have to think you are the best. Confidence goes a long way.

If i am correct LC is going to FAME Chicago? If so, i can not wait to see you guys there!

Thanks Stolby! I see that you get it...

We will be at FAME Chicago, which is gonna be so fun!

I thought vocally they were great. I did think FC deserved best vocals, but Warren was close behind. Now, I thought their choreo was a mess. haha. But they got 3rd visually. So I don't think the judges and I were seeing the same show. lol

hahaha clearly not but hey who knows where the judges view was the may not have looked as bad smh

Me personally, I had them at 2nd vocally and 6th visually. Pretty much how they usually place (although choreography is better than last year). But who knows... guess we'll just have to wait and see how this year plays out!

you had warren 2nd??

TRUE!! I knew FC would take vocals and visuals... LC (in my opinion) can't compete with FC. In my honest opinion... Ben Davis should have gotten 2nd. Here is how I thought it should have went:

GC: Franklin Central... Awesome, as usual.

1RU: Ben Davis... VERY good. They had a great show last year, and this one is even better.

2RU: Lawrence Central: They were clean, and had good vocals. I loved the Little Richard song... but everything after that was BORING.

3RU: Brownsburg: Had a fun show. Energetic and had the crowd going.

4RU: Warren Central: Got shafted. Won most creative show, and had 90% of the audience standing after. Good vocals... as usual. And a crowd favorite... as usual.

This is based off what I saw. Congrats to everyone!!

Moorseville got 4RU, not Warren. Just a clarification! I didn't get to see Warren, but my friend hosted them and said they killed it! But here are my thoughts from the day:

FC: INCREDIBLE energy. I mean, my goodness you all are in shape. Great show, great vocals, I thought your Michael Jackson song was put together nicely. A well-deserved GC.

LC: Interesting show idea. The "I Feel Pretty" song was hilarious and performed well. Anything before/after that I don't remember. But congrats.

BD: You guys were hyped up a TON and I was expecting an amazing performance. It wasn't bad by ANY means but I think the hype just got me really excited LOL. Solid performance, and I personally had you above LC in my rankings. P.S., that ballad soloist has some pipes!

BBURG: I'm sorry, but I'm completely blanking on anything you did in your show. I do remember the ballad was performed well.

MOORESVILLE: INCREDIBLE VOCALS IN THE FIRST NUMBER. OMG! After that, again, I don't really remember much.

PIKE: My group You all can dance. That is for sure. But you need to SING OUT. Idk if it was a mike problem or not, but regardless of if the mikes are on or off, you HAVE to project. I was 8 rows back and could not hear a dang thing. You could place very high at BD if you guys work on projecting. GOOD LUCK BABIES See you on Saturday!

Overall, I was disappointed in the shows. This was my first competition this year and I was ready for some show choir, but frankly, I was bored. Hopefully the BD competition this weekend will be AMAZING! Which it should, its STACKED! Congrats to everyone who participated at Pike! And good luck with the rest of your season!

I did not say that HE was arrogant. I said that he came off as arrogant. And he did. You can love your choir all you want... that's great. But one cannot say something like that on national tv and not expect for all show choir hell to break lose.
