North Central was apparently disqualified...

from what I understand their arranger was backstage, not sure what rule they broke, but apparently it wasn't a deduction, a straight DQ.

yikes....

Let's go Luers!!!

Let me preface this by saying that I don't yet know if this is rumor or fact, but I've been told that one of their directors was going back and forth between the house and backstage to balance the band.

I don't really know, I was just sent a text. That said that they were Disqualified. So only time will tell.

Is anybody there able to give us any idea of who's doing well and the like? I know its a few hours until day awards, but if anyone has anything to say I'd love to hear it. I wish I could have made it to this comp, its got to be a great one.

My Predictions:

NC: I put them first because even though it is their first competition, they're one of the greatest singing programs in the country and they could stand on stage and just sing and beat some groups. (Haha not really, just sayin.)

FC: They could very easily take 1st since they have competed the past couple weekends. However, while their show at Pike last weekend was really good, it wasn't spectacular. I personally liked their show last year a LOT more. But still a solid group.

DeKalb: I say this only because they usually place well at this competition and because they always have like 500 people on stage. Last year, their choreography was more "armography." But I know this group CAN dance.

Thats probably true about NC lol, they definitely are the best singing group in Indiana! Hope the fact that this is their first contest doesn't hurt them...I wasn't a huge fan of their show design last year....for my taste they sang like NC always does, but their show design was a huge turn off for me....Liked it more when they changed it up for state! I'm sure this year is no exception to their excellence!
Good Luck NC!

I've seen F.C. they were just as good as always....I honestly thought that they picked up steam towards the end of their show, but thats just me. Not the most athletic choreography, but still appropriate to the show and pretty enjoyable. I did think last years group had the better all-around package....seems like they haven't picked up the slack from last years amazing group (kid who did the queen song, for example)..., but it's still early in the season, and I love F.C., so I'm sure they'll pull it out. Plus it is FC, they don't really have down years....just regrouping years, which for a group of this caliber are amazing. Seems like there is alot of new faces this year, but I guess thats the trend this season! Good Luck FC, one of my favorite groups to listen to!

Dekalb might surprise you lol....it looks like they have a bit smaller group than they normally have, probably in the lower 40's or so...? with lots of new faces, which explains why their floor section was so freaking amazing last year,....probably some of the best performers I saw all year! Truthfully, I thought they were one of the best groups in the state...I honestly did think last years group was the best singing Dekalb group I've heard, and I wouldn't ever say this group does "armography", their choreo last year was intense and CLEAN.....It's Dekalb lol, they put the "D's" in dancing and difficulty...Dekalb is another group that never has a bad year...Vocally, they from what I saw they have a bit of cleaning up to do, but looks great. Heard they've improved alot, hope they do really well!
Good Luck Dekalb!

Sorry for the posts that were made for no reason other than to stir up controversy... there's always someone each season who tries to make things a pain for everyone else. Guess they weren't hugged enough as a child. Anyway, it's cleaned up... thanks for being patient.

My Predictions:

GC: North Central
1RU: Franklin Central
2RU: DeKalb
3RU: Pike/Bishop Luers
4RU: Bishop Luers/Pike

NC: I put them first because even though it is their first competition, they're one of the greatest singing programs in the country and they could stand on stage and just sing and beat some groups. (Haha not really, just sayin.)

FC: They could very easily take 1st since they have competed the past couple weekends. However, while their show at Pike last weekend was really good, it wasn't spectacular. I personally liked their show last year a LOT more. But still a solid group.

DeKalb: I say this only because they usually place well at this competition and because they always have like 500 people on stage. Last year, their choreography was more "armography." But I know this group CAN dance.

Pike: I think the only way Pike can take the 4th spot is if the frickin SING. This is my group, so I'm critical. Last weekend at Pike they looked great and sounded timid. They have a solid show, INCREDIBLE choreography. They're just a very young group with lots of a new members.

Bishop Luers: Never heard of them, but from the way people are talking I'm guessing they're not doing too badly this year.

Good luck to everyone competing! I can't wait to see all the great groups!
