Wow. Sarcastic much? What I'm saying is... there is NO point in being in show choir if you won't have fun. The point of show choir is to have fun. If you place well, then great. For example... WC has a BLAST on stage. They didn't place well at Pike... but it didn't matter. Because they had fun and so did the audience! If you think show choir is all about placing well and isn't meant to have fun... then I truly feel sorry for you.

Well you obviously are not used to winning if you feel that way....and I pitty you

Yeah because when I was in choir we spent 20 hours a week working on our show to go out every weekend and "just have fun" and you practice EVERY day to go "have fun" yeah I see winning as sort of a bonus on top of the day......

I love looking at the predictions, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of the indy groups I haven't seen yet this year.

I have seen Luers (duh), Franklin Central, Dekalb, Carroll, Homestead, Mooresville, Dwenger and Columbia City already this year. I always look forward to seeing my own choir, but I am also really looking forward to seeing these other groups again. If you haven't seen Carroll, I have to say they have some very interesting costumes, and I love their opener. This will be a good competition.

We're bringing a big group with us to the event, so we'll see you all there!!

Anybody remember when these forums used to be a nice fun place to talk about show choir? anyone? eh? no? sad. :-(

my predictions (since i decided to comment)
GC: Luers-they're having a great season that reminds me of the talk about pike last year (and pike won this comp)
1RU: FC
2RU: NC (could take 2nd or first depending on how they come out this season)
3RU: Pike (I'm an alum. I gotta put them somewhere.)
4RU: Warren or Dekalb. (If warren gets the visual scores they got last week and sing the way they usually do, warren takes this spot easy and maybe higher)

All great groups. Everyone works hard. Let's let everyone's hard work result in compliments and support and not bickering.

Support Arts in High Schools.

This site is an open forum to speak freely about whatever. If someone feels a certain way about a grtoup or results so be it. Its happened to CS all the time and I will admit i go and talk and correct the false statements but when it boils down to it this is an opinion forum. Not everyones opinion will be the same and there will be disagreements. Too many feel like they need to be politically correct on here and then say how they feel to friends. Either way it will get around to the choir. BL is and has been a great choir they're success is amazing this year and people are mad and biased to their choirs. Stop being so sensitive and realize opinions are just that....

oh an i predict finalists

Pike, FC, BC, NC, WC

top three will be FC, BL, and WC/NC )not in a particular order.

also is this a state qualifier?? if so and ppl are saying BL will get vocals then i'd have to say they'd probably get 2nd unless its really close like warren was last year wen CS won but ddnt win a caption....

I'm not into all this fighting and bad mouthing.shouldn't this site be here for choir members and fans to talk NICELY about and cheer on their favorite groups???? I know I love to get on here and see people give compliment to luers and many other groups. But to get on here and find out that people are sayin we aren't good enough, arguing, and tearing our group and other groups down just doesn't give me a good feeling about going into a competition. I would like to say that I can't wait for this weekend... It will be nice to see all the different groups and all the talent that is at this competition.... It's All fair game with new judges and new groups. From me there are no predicitions.like my director always say it doesn't matter what your score was before.it's a new performance and all points before have been wiped out. Go this weekend and perform your best! Good luck to every single group coming!

are people really fighting over us? all i have to say is, i dont care what the results are... i want to have fun. that is all. I know our choir will do the best to our ability and we will take whatever results we get. i dont understand all of the fighting this year at all. People just cant accept that we are in it for fun. not statistics.

Good! That's the way show choir should be.

Which parent is causing drama and why would you not predict a win for BL when you specifically said you are going off of results. And the results are that BL beat FC. If you want to predict FC to win then do not say you are going off results.

I'd like to see Bishop Leurs win actually. It would be a huge accomplishment for their program.

In my opinion, it's a little low for a parent to call out a student for saying that he didn't understand why Leurs has won the choreography caption at recent contests. The student clearly wasn't "sniping" his choir, or belittling their chances at this contest.

Good Luck to everyone at this contest!!! Especially Bishop Leurs, my vote for 2010's Underdog award

Correct, but with another parent like myself on the boards causing drama with students. I wouldn't be caught dead predicting a win for Bishop Leurs

I don't think you're doing any service to your Luers Minstrels with all this talk. Anyone on this forum SHOULD be questioning the success Bishop Luers is having this year, because in past years, they've always had great vocals, but only recently have they been able to compete with the larger groups from around the country.

Now, i don't get the opportunity to go to competitions in Indiana, so i'm going to base predictions solely on what i know from this season, and what others have shown me on youtube. From what i can tell, even though we've got some great choirs here in Cali, there's something in the water in Indiana...

GC: Franklin Central (choreography)
1ru: North Central
2ru: Bishop Luers (Vocals)
3ru: Dekalb (haven't seen much of them)
4ru: Pike

Please just let us know the competitions that you are judging (officially not just on SCC forums). FYI I am chewing gum AND typing at the SAME time, so I guess you'll think twice before crossing me...yeah that's right...

I'm sure no one is insulting your choir.

We all did the same thing the first time we heard of "Waubonsie Valley".

I think Luers and FC are really going to make it difficult for North Central's first competition. I'm not sure but, i thought NC got bested by Pike AND FC last year at their first competition.

Really wish i could be at this one, it will be a fun one to watch!

Are you saying that singing and dancing at the same time is as easy as chewing gum and talking?! Yes, I have seen Luers..and they can sing but the choreography is really repetitive and easy....Groups like Colerain and FC who can sing AND do tough choreography deserve a little more credit than Luers....I'm not saying Luers shouldn't win...they can win on vocals alone...it is just when they win choreography as well that baffles me
