Vestavia Hills "Singers" are listed under the women's division here, but in other competitions, they're under the small mixed division. Can someone clear this up?

Vestavia Hills "Singers" used to be a mixed group, but they changed to a women's group a couple of years ago (if my memory serves me correctly)

I'm not sure. I just posted what the schedule from SJ had listed. If I remember correctly, they were a women's group last year. I may be mistaken.

South Jones does have a Performing Arts Center as does Northeast and West. They are identical. The South Jones comp is held at Jones Jr College because it has always been there and it does have 400 more seats than South does. West Jones hosts their comp at their PAC and it works just fine, just a preference for South.
StageTec will once again be at the South Jones and West Jones competitions handling all the sound needs. We look forward to serving all the groups and as always, I look forward to seeing all of yall this year! I will be in the sound booth and as usual, wiull prob be the one chamging batteries onstage! Lol!! Anyways... Yall look me up and say hi!

Good Luck to all in 2010!!

Agreed on finals. While there could very well be shockers, I don't see any small division group pulling a Pascagoula and ending up in finals with the larger choirs.

Oops, my bad. I meant 2008. Sorry!

South Jones awards in 2008:

GC: Pascagoula "Impact"
1RU: Homewood "The Network"
2RU: Albertville "CenterStage!"
3RU: Northeast Jones "Gold Horizons"
4RU: Jackson Academy "Encore"

Now that that's over, I predict finals in ABC order will be:

- Albertville "CenterStage!"
- Homewood "The Network"
- Northeast Jones "Gold Horizons"
- Petal "Soundsations"
- West Jones "Imagination"

I'm thinkin about coming down from hattiesburg to watch this competition I was wondering if anybody had a schedule for this? Last time I came to this one I believe pasagoula beat petal in finals! Everybody was shocked! But has anybody heard from oak grove? Do they still have a show choir?

I don't recall Pascagoula ever outscoring Petal at this competition. They did beat Petal at Homewood in 2007.

I'm sure that Oak Grove is still around. They will be competiting at the Misssissippi show choir contest (I think). Ask Toney...

I think if you made the trip to this competition, you won't regret it.
