Plainfield had one of the most beautiful vocal sounds i've heard this year. Your show is kind of simple, kind of out of date as far as the "new age" of show choir goes, but plainfield ALWAYS executes VERY well... And in all reality, as i've said before, you cannot judge anything else in show choir.

Exactly... I would guess that Dekalb and Plainfield scored similarly to Northrup, Pike, HN, and Warren today, yet they get a separate class because they live in a more rural area. I don't know about all that.
The reason i have an issue with this system is because it causes so much turmoil in ISSMA State marching band contests.
Franklin Central marching flashes have been "Class A" from the very moment they switched from "Track Marching" (indiana state fair, dirt horse track), to "Field Marching" (BOA Grand Nationals, the highest class for HS marching bands). They have NOT won a competition since...Most bands in Indiana that compete in Class A have around 180 to 200 members... Certain years, bands like Snyder, Ben Davis, Castle, Homestead, Avon, and Carmel, have jumped to numbers exceeding 400. Franklin Central usually marches with 120 members at most (20 or 30 being Color guard and producing no sound). Because of FC's Enrollment numbers, they are forced to compete with band programs that are FAR FAR bigger than they are...
FC won Indiana State Fair Marching, 6 years in a row, got 2nd one year by .5, then won by 20 points their final year. At that point, they were literally banned from the contest, saying that it was unfair for them to compete there...
It was an honor for Northridge to compete at the ISSMA state event this year. First year with our new director - many many changes in the program - and we had a great time.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who performed today at Plainfield - everyone did a fantastic job and really kept the spirit of competition alive by bringing their best to the stage!
A big shout-out to DeKalb, Plainfield, and Columbia City - well done and thanks for setting the bar so high!

This sounds almost as bad as last year...
And as far as volume goes: Dekalb [I was at class B, obviously, sorry] for one puts half their choir on the floor so they are drilling the mics and pounding their vocals through the speakers; that's where half their volume comes from and it makes it seem like they have powerhouse vocals and like they have a huge choir [could NOT figure out how they had the same number of people as us but they looked like they had 70 people on stage lol].

Your shows are amazing year after year, and you defiantly deserve the title of best in the state.

Looking back at the final performances, I agree that NC deserved GC and FC as 1RU.
i'm glad that all who attended awards at ISSMA started chanting "Warren Central" after the mistake. I could tell it lifted their spirits just a little higher. And we kept chanting when they lady was trying to say the next choir. WE SHUT HER UP! YEAH! that was awesome.

We have beaten Carmel, LC, Warren, and Ben Davis in the past two years [those are just the names that come to mind]. Thank you for calling us the best choir in Indy's "small mixed" category; however, we can compete with the big schools just as well as Dekalb.

Ummmmm...............so the final draw was so awkward to me, there was no Carmel, nor no Pike..lol WOW, but anywho congrads to the finalist N.C your show has came along way, and im glad you was able to get a win before the end of your season well.......yeah
This competition was a big disappointment. I don't agree with the judging. The awards unprofessionalism was very overwhelming. I wouldn't be surprised if some schools decided not to do ISSMA next year. This is not how ISSMA should be.
