i think we should all wait till after prelims and the make predictions

and saying one show sucks versus another is a matter of opinion its NOT about how well a group performs the show they have which is how judging should and does go for the most part.

I know there have been GC shows that i actually thought were boring but when looking at the musicality of the shows they were awesome.

When I was a student, if my director or choreographer saw comments like these on showchoir.com I would have been suspended from the group immediately I'm sure. I would have been absolutely screamed at.

I'm just a little shocked at your comments.
My old director wouldn't even let us be on it. Our group had this big conversation about showchoir.com. I had to wait until I graduated to get on it. haha

Don't count Bishop Dwenger out of either of the small school divisions......

I just realized Pike has to go first during the day, and i have to say that absolutely sucks for them...

Encores, come out early and ROCK THE HOUSE if you want that finals spot... Going first could work in your advantage if you have a really impressive show in prelims.

Good luck to all choirs!

Final Predictions

GC: Carmel Ambassadors
1RU: Franklin Central FC Singers
2RU: North Central Counterpoints

Womens:

GC: Carmel Accents/FC High Voltage
1RU: FC High Voltage/Carmel Accents
2RU: NC Descants

i have no idea how the captions are going to be awarded.... With this lineup how could anyone guess? I could even see NC coming back to win it, FC not making finals, Pike taking GC... it could go a million ways.

i KNOW my director would flip if she saw me say something like this on scc...or to anyone in our group for that matter. it is really quite disrespectful to carmel and, while i think that they are the most underrated/overrated choir in indiana, they do work hard and if you are going to talk about someone's show you really should get your facts straight and maybe go read some of the comments on the board devoted to the debate over their excellence and learn something. while they HAVE been known to have some flashy sets and props, that's in the past AND they have talent to back it up. this is also to the person wondering how people could compare LC and NC because LC's show sucks? while show chior IS subjective, learn some tact.
so Lets talk about girls groups for once.

Womens
GC: Carmel
1RU: Nc
2nd: BD

Carmel can't sing. The character voices for almost the whole show is getting old. Can you wave your money somewhere else. If you take all the sets and props out they wouldnt even come close to good. But thats the only reason why their show is entertaining.

NC- they are pretty good this year as of every year. Im excited to see how they do. Love the songs this year.

LC or BD.
LCs moves are way to easy and not that entertaining but they have a lot of volume. Def should work on facials. BD on the other hand has a really fun show but cant seem to get their dancing down. Seems they have a lot of new girls and a lot of splat vowels.

Mixed
GC: Carmel
1stRU: LC
2nd RU: Pike

carmel pays the judges.
LC has too many costume changes.
pike is really fun.
That is true.
We're all hoping that it will turn out in our favor (obviously)
Thank you for the consideration!

Its IMPOSSIBLE to make predictions for this year. I've tried. But it could go SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many ways. In my opion... its a toss up between Pike, Huntington North, Lawrence Central, Warren Central, Franklin Central, North Central and Carmel.

How can you predict it? This is truly going to be one of the best competitions in recent memory!!

We received the same info today. ISSMA "clarified" their ticket pricing. Cost is $13 for adults and $11 for students for ALL DAY. There is not a separate charge for finals. This is definitely good news.
And once again to clarify this: Yes, there was a scoring issue at Huntington North with Northrop Charisma and othr choirs. However, ISSMA did not "feel bad" for us and made us the tenth choir. We got higher scores at the Dekalb ISSMA site and that is where our qualifying score came from. The ten choirs came from a tie between two of the choirs out of this ten. Nobody knows which two these are except for the ISSMA coordinator who looked at the scores and determined the qualifiers for state. When this coordinator found the tie, they felt it was nesscessary to let both in since scores were the same. So this is where ten choirs come from. Thank you.
No disrespect was ever ment to be derived from the situation causing 10 choirs instead of 9. What ever it was, we're sure all who are in deserve to be there. Period.

I'm sorry - I heard it from someone who probably heard it from someone who heard it from someone who got confused and misunderstood.

I want to get back on the topic of the state finals (since it seemed like we were going in different directions, lol) coming up in only 2 days now!! There is no way anyone can make predictions with these choirs. I bet it will come down to tenths of points to determine a champ. I bet all of the choirs' scores will be no more than 20 points apart or so at the ed of the day. I think it is going to be really close. I just can't imagine what the daytime awards are going to be like! It's going to be so tense! This is the first time Charisma has gone down to state in a LONG time, because we have our jazz band festival on the same day. Most of the years I believe we have qualified, but haven't been able to go because of this. So we are definatly going to make the best of our time down there. Good luck to all of the choirs competing. You all better bring your "A Game!" I know we will! Peace!
That's why there are 10 large mixed groups instead of the 9 planned for.
There are ten schools instead of nine, because there was a tie between to of the schools that are included in this ten. Nobody knows which two choirs tied or even the scores that each choir qualified with except the head honcho at ISSMA. The directors of each choir will probably know what score that ISSMA used for qualification, but I'm sure they haven't told anyone else. So that is why there are 10 schools attending the large mixed competition.

WC's ballad from 07 was great but u take out Ashley murphy (solosit) and is it still great? I still love it but she carried the number. i listened to that sooo many times and sing it quite often
haha. it is Jessica Murphy. and yes, it is still great. They got better thru the year. That video was from their first competition. So it got way better by the end of the year. They won best vocals with this show, and no other song showed their vocals better than orphans of god.
