......I'm really surprised you don't have the Franklin Central women's group here....haven't they won GC or 1RU in every competition they've attended this year?
I agree. I thought their show should have won at the BD competition this year. They are going to be a tough competitor.

Connection 2007 (that entire year, but ESPECIALLY thier ballad, Orphans of God)
They won best vocals a couple times that year. This video was from their first competiton, so it was a MILLION times better by state.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro0TUYb4aBg

Burbank In-Sync 2009
Its not on youtube yet. But it was truly the best vocals I've heard from a choir since Connections 2007 show. They blew the ROOF off the place. Incredible.

Warren Central 2009
They were behind Burbank vocally by half a point at LC. This song was amazing. ESPECIALLY at 2:59
im thinking............

LARGE LADIES DIVISION

GC:Carmel "Accents" (Vocals, Visuals) - They really are just far and above all of their competition.
1RU:North Central "Descants" - Excellent group, again just probably not as tight as the Carmel ladies.
2RU:Lawrence Central "Sweet Sensations" - They seem to place pretty consistantly every year.
So as I was reading all the hates on Carmel I was thinking, if Carmel is so gay and all this crap at least they bring home hardware and can bring home State Titles. So, what they are good. Why can't they be. Just because you arn't in the group. Can't you just be happy that you get to participate in show choir?
Heh. I was reading this, not paying any attention to who wrote it, and about halfway through I knew it was a Shawn post. Tehe. I'm good.

And I agree completely - Carmel is good because they have the talent, they have the dedication and they have the leadership to do consistently well. I remember when I first saw their show this year at...somewhere, it had been a long day and I was practically asleep in the auditorium through several choirs. I hadn't really heard much about Carmel for some reason up to then and so didn't know what to expect, and when they came on I was riveted and they consistently kept my attention for twenty minutes, until they finished with an absolutely divine closer. It wasn't even particularly the visuals that kept me entranced(even though their visuals are still remarkably good), it was the vocals - that's something that no amount of props or having money thrown at it or smoke or mirrors or anything will help. What got Carmel where they are and where they have been for decades is their dedication to putting on an excellent show for their audience.

If you're so petty to have nothing but unfounded insults about Carmel's wealth, it sounds to me like you need to grow up and realize that you making up crap helps nobody and makes you look like a jealous grade schooler that can't mature into the high school or older men and women you're supposed to be.

And because I've just gotten off topic like none other and I need to somehow save this post: Can't wait to meet some awesome people at Plainfield on Saturday. We've worked on our show since last May and I hope to see it come to a strong end.

Cost is $13 for adults, $11 for children for prelims and the same for finals. No discount for buying tickets for both sessions.

[this is funny]
everyone has "stepped up their game" for State
..it's State
No... that is not what I meant. North Central, I have heard, has CHANGED their show a great deal for state and Fame. Of course this is more than most groups. Most groups are just perfecting their show that is existing. North Central has stepped up their game by taking a non-winning show and transforming it into something that could win state. That is stepping up their game for state. Other groups are stepping up their game in a different way for state. Thanks.

Huntington North is due for their best show this year.

I've always said Huntington North is the most Unpredictably amazing choir. One week they won't place, the next week they'll beat CG, Mtz, FC, and BD...

Every year they have ONE show that is pretty unbeatable, and they still haven't had it. SO if they bring it really hard in finals, they COULD be top 3.

All we can use to base our predictions on right now, are RESULTS. HN has not had a very good year... though they did beat Laf Jeff, i don't think that gives them as much clout as Carmel sweeping captions at both competitions they've been to, FC's 2 GCs and 2 1RUs, or NC's what, 5 state titles or so, and being a consistent national finalist.
You re correct. If there aren't any results one can't count them in. This will be so interesting to see how much each group steps up and who performs. There is alot at stake this year. If choirs have a bad prelim then they can just kiss placing hig good bye. I honestly think this will be the BEST prelim competition EVER!!!! So many groups are gonna show up and show out!! meaning do their best. i'd HATE to be a judge!!!!!
