Congrats to Sound Sensations, Xtreme, and In Sync for getting first place in each division!
Congrats to John Burroughs' whole choir system for the Grand Championship. I wish Brea could have seen Powerhouse, but of course we had to be in the warm-up room while you were performing. :< Then I could only catch the second part of In Sync's show live, because we were being told to load the trailer but when I went outside, it was already taken care of. While we were taking our group photos however I caught the first part of your show on the TV. It looked almost surreal!

I personally had a fantastic time, and I think that everyone did a great job. Special shout-out to Rancho Verde, you guys had me sobbing after the first gunshot sound. I knew what was coming and the waterworks began. Great job. =)
Plus, I liked the location. It gave me a lot of exercise, SO MANY STAIRS!! haha.

I have a question. What is Burbank's show about? Because the costumes in the beginning and the songs are dark and then the end it is all light. If someone has already asked this I am sorry!

thought it was like the holocaust at the begining. hahahahahaha

i guess im totally wronggg.

our show is called "Ex Tenebris Lux!" meaning "out of darkness to light".
So basically from being down and being nothing and then rising to do something spectacular.Or however you want to interpret it.I just gave a really short lame example hahaha

can we please just stop adding fuel to this fire and quit before this grows any further? no one needs this right now. Its ridiculous.

Agreed!

No one should make judgments about an entire group based on one frustrated member.

I let it slide for awhile, but this is starting to become irritating. I'm becoming weary of people labeling me "frustrated" or a "ranter", especially without reading the whole story.

I long for the days when an intelligent show choir discussion can be had without being threatened or viciously attacked by someone most likely associated with Burbank hiding behind a false identity, and being called a ranter or "frustrated member" by various members, including one from my own choir (which I find disappointing).

On a lighter note, does anyone have a video of Rancho? I'm hearing many wonderful things about them, however I missed their performance due to me having to change.

Please don't associate ALL of us with someone's angry rant.
I agree with this. Burroughs is definitely full of amazing people, some of whom I met at SoCal this year. No one should make judgments about an entire group based on one frustrated member.

BTW. Great job to all of the choirs. We're all winners as long as we know that we performed to our full potential and had the best time on stage.

It was really really fun :D

but I still haven't seen Rancho's nor Hart's performance...

I gave up on Rancho's because they were right before us, so we would be in warm ups or something and I knew I won't get to see them, but I didn't get to see Hart because we were taking pictures and I had to go to the pharmacy cuz of my horrible pink eye D=

Not true. I remember that Burroughs tied with Burbank in 2006 when they had "Magic Power/River Deep, Mountain High" as their opener.

just an f.y.i.
last year was a tie too, but because of the 2006 situation, they had made a rule that in the event of a tie, the group with the higher music score would take first.

Hey everyone its Keaton!!! im the VMA pres from Burroughs and i really want to congratulate everyone on their f-ing spectacular performances on saturday!! and just to clear the air, we may have some very...well, passionate members of our choir and im sorry if anyone was offended by their postings. Please don't associate ALL of us with someone's angry rant. We all know people can get frustrated and defensive, and not everyone understands how their comments may come off in print. But i just want to say all of us from Powerhouse are so truly grateful to be a part of this show choir circuit and have had an amazing year.
Congrats InSync! you guys took your show to a whole new level last night and i was really impressed :>
Once again thank you to everyone who made this year possible, and i couldn't have asked for a better 4 years.

i think we're all being a little too sensitive here... don't take choir so seriously. jeez.

AHHHH THANK YOU!!!
whoever you are, youre a genius.
i think some people really dont know when they need to focus on their performance and the joy they get out of it, instead of arguing about the results of two great groups :>

It has been a great year, and I can say that I have seen some amazing choirs, including Burbank, Clinton, and Northcentral. I only hope the years to follow will be as good as this one.

Orbie, this must've been one helluva senior year for you!

Let me just set the record straight,
Burbank, You people are so SO talented. Your performance last night was definitely a Grand Championship performance. Let me just say, Im so glad I have had the privilege not only to compete against you guys and watch you guys perform, but to g>have met so many of you. Your an amazing group of people and it is so fantastic to see what just a high school choir can do. Many props and congratulations to Brett Carroll and the BHS VMA staff for creating an interesting and excellent show. I applaud you for your outstanding performance yesterday. (It still ceases to amaze me that two great groups are in the SAME city )
This has been amazing senior year, and I'm so proud to have met so many of you in the show choir world, Powerhouse I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be with. Once again congrats on ALL the outstanding performances I saw last night: Los Al, Brea, Rancho Verde, Bonita Vista, Carlsbad, Hart.
And of course congrats to Burbank on the Grand Championship.
And thank you Chula for an great performance and a great shout out! =D
I will never forget this year!!! Thanks again to everyone for making this year memorable and amazing!
