Does anyone know how large the point margin between Studio and Gretna was?
It was roughly 56 points after day time. I don't know about finals.

I just wanted to throw out a HUGE, MONDO HUGE, EXTREMELY BIG apology for those in or associated with Urbandale Studio 2009. My post that I wrote about you guys on here came off extremely rude and made me sound like the worlds biggest *******. Its kind of that whole, you cant get what the person is really saying over the internet thing. I was in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM taking away from your amazing show, your extremely hard work, and your talent. Your choreography was the cleanest I've seen in years, your vocals were great and your band was wonderful. The thing that disappointed me was that with all the talk on SCC, i expected a performance that would leave me in the back of my seat not believing my eyes. And when all I got was a very good, extremely clean performance, I was slightly upset. That mixed with my feelings about the us not making finals situation, and other personal problems with my director, it came out completely wrong. You guys were F A N T A S T I C. You guys have worked hard to master your show, and you can see that with your performance. Some of your dance breaks left me saying 'How do they ever do that'. You guys deserved grand champions, and you guys deserve to be undefeated. You guys are the best in Iowa this year. Congratulations on a truly AMAZING season, and I'm sorry for my other post.

I think about 40 points- Gretna was much better in the finals. Very unique and energized show. They just need to always bring their vocals

We hope you enjoyed your day at Emmetsburg!

It was rather amazing. I'd like to vote Emmetsburg for BEST FOOD at a competition. ITS FANTASTIC.

Congratualtions to ALL the show choirs who performed at Emmetsburg this weekend. The performance center was PACKED from 10:00 on, and the suppport given to each performance is truely an example of what show choir is all about. It was just so much fun- both as a performer and to watch! Best of luck to all of you as you wrap up the perfomance season. We hope you enjoyed your day at Emmetsburg!

Prep:
1 Urbandale
2 Gretna
3 Lincoln
4 O Gorman

1A/2A.. all I know is the top score was Hinton

3A
1 Gretna
2 Carroll
3 LeMars
4 Dallas Center Grims
5 Spirit Lake
6 Waseca
7 Jefferson

4A
1 Urbandale
2 Lincoln
3 Marshall
4 O Gorman
5 Albert Lea

Finalists, in no order:

Hinton (Class 1A/2A Winner)
Urbandale Vitality
Carroll
Gretna
Des Moines Lincoln
Urbandale Studio 2009

(Studio got best band, and both best soloists.. Ben and i forgot the girls name.)

LeMars didn't make finals. At Emmetsburg, the top score of the 1A/2A classes makes finals automatically. LeMars actually had the sixth highest score, and at any other competition would have made finals. But due to that rule, the 1A/2A winner (Hinton) was put in finals and LeMars was kicked.. (Don't get me wrong. I actually love this rule.. giving the smaller schools a chance to show their hard work. It just sucks that it kicked us out of finals. ) I'm not exactly sure what went when it comes to our performance. Something didn't click. After we got done performing, I had this terrible feeling in my stomach. And it just kinda hurts to see go Hinton ahead of us when just a week ago, we beat them easily. Oh well though. Thats show choir. It happens. This competition was actually really tough. Every group that made finals had a fantastic day show. I was suprised with Des Moines Lincoln. I had heard they weren't going to be that great, but they really brought it and had a fantastic show. I didn't get to see Vitality, Carroll, or Gretna. I heard Vitality was AMAZING. I also heard Gretna was crazy awesome. I didn't hear much on Carroll, though.

Okay. Now the case with Urbandale. And Joe agrees. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with them. Don't get me wrong. Their choreography is INCREDIBLY clean. Their vocals are very good, and their band was really good, too. But they are talked up WAY too much on SCC. I sat there while they set up like a kid on christmas eve. I was SOOO excited, you have NO idea. ANd when they were done performing.. I was just like.. That was it? I was expecting a HUGE wow factor. A blow out show. But I didn't get it. Don't get me wrong. They're effing AMAZING. ANd some of their dance breaks and move combinations were fantastic and gave me individual wow factors.. But the show.. just wasn't as exciting as I was expecting it to be.

Emmetsburg was great to us again today. I absolutely love this competition and I am sad that I only got to attend twice. I met Emmetsburg's director today, too. Very, very nice man.

AND I MET JOE. That made my day. Cool kid right there.

MR. TEMPLE. I came to see you when we were waiting in warm ups.. but I guess having to set up show choir stuff is more important than me? Haha, sorry I didn't get another chance to swing by. I'm upset we didn't get to meet

It was a pretty great day, all things considered. I'll attempt to update you on everything else as it goes via texting of friends and such.

Tomorrow!

I think Urbandale and Gretna are pretty locked in as finalists. Hinton would be my 1A/2A group. Who else has a shot at making it in?

Congratualtions EsAreUnimportant on your results at Kennedy. My daughter is the director at your old MS alum-CR Regis. We need to get Xavier and Regis here next year.

Thanks for keeping this comp bumped up Ethan! Congrats to you and LeMars

No problem! I'm upset more people aren't talking about this competition with groups such as Gretna and Urbandale going!

I think the most interesting story here is where Vitality will place when compared against all of the other varsity groups besides Studio.
I was actually wondering about that, too.

Less than a week away

Urbandale is coming off it's third grand championship of the season.

Gretna is coming off a grand championship, also.

LeMars is coming off of a first runner up finish (to hastings) in their first competition of the year at Heelan. Hinton finished third runner up and Spirit lake finished fifth runner up at the same competition.

How is this competition going to end?
