It depends on how this competiton works with the prep list added. I know highest 1A/2A score automatically makes finals (Its gonna be Hinton, most likely), but with the Prep list added, maybe they'll make it the highest 1A/2A/Prep score? or maybe prep has to make it on their own? I'm not really sure how its going to work, to be honest.
Anything can happen. Do I think Urbandale is goig to lose? No. But there's always something amazing about an underdog. Maybe this will be a repeat of David VS Goliath ;)
I'm the director at St. Edmond in Fort Dodge, and unfortunately we will not be attending this competition. I was hoping to make the schedule work but it just doesn't look like it will pan out this year. I'm hoping that next year we'll be able to make it to a few competitions.
As for the program at St. Eds, there has been a show choir for quite a few years, but it is called "Chamber Choir" because it is one group that serves as both a chamber choir and show choir. The group is 28 members, evenly balanced. We are choreographed by Lesa Dencklau.
But I'll be graduated by then haha. I was hoping to see you guys this year.

Well is Des Moines Lincoln not very heard of for a reason or are they just shadowed by Ankeny, Urbandale, Johnston, Waukee, etc? Should they be a strong competitor for finals or no?
Marshall recieved Grand Champion at, err my brain is blah today.. Albert Lea? last year. We performed at the Marshall Competition the past two years and they performed in exhibition. Their show last year was very entertaining.
I'm not sure about recent years, other than just reading the boards, but D.M. Lincoln used to be a finals contender when I was competing against them btw 2000-2004. Most notably in 2003 when they did:
Live out Loud - Steven Curtis Chapman
Beatles Medley (Elenor Rigby/Imagine)
Work to Do - Vanessa Williams
Workin in a Coal Mine - Sam Cook
Bang on the Drums - Todd Rundgren
Rhythm Nation - Janet Jackson

Des Moines Lincoln has had a show choir for a long time... I believe they went to Linn-Mar last year... If so, they got no higher than 9th there losing to the finalists, and also West Delaware and CR Washington's 9th grade group- Vivace. Also didn't Marshall do really well at a competition or two last year? or was that 2007? lol my brain is jumbled.

Just for the record: Last Years Finals.
GC.. Des Moines Dowling
1RU.. Gretna
2RU.. SF Washington
3RU.. LeMars
4RU.. Carroll
5RU.. Pocahontus
Wow.. Looks like its going to be very competitive! Hinton is one of the best small schools around. Last years 3A groups that fought hard for the 3A title are all returning in LeMars, Carrol, and Gretna. The famous Urbandale is attending, with the addition of Des Moines Lincoln, Marshall, and SF OGorman. Last year's 1st and 3rd place finishers don't seem to be returning (Dowling and SF Washington), but runner up, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place are all going to be back (Gretna, LeMars, Carroll, and Pocahontas).
I didn't even know Des Moines Lincoln had a show choir, nor did I know FD St Edmund did either. Any information on these choirs?
