So I heard Fairfield is now going to Garfield? Is that rumor? Someone @ Marysville's competition yesterday told me that?

Marietta Premiere is very excited to come to Garfield Heights. This will be our first competition with our new director, choreographer and arranger. We all think we are light years ahead of where we used to be. We are very excited to show everyone what we have been working on.

Yeah, no matter how you put it, it is unfair because these two adjudicators actually had these performers as students, especially Mr. Bianchi, who just retired last May. I'm sure there are many other people that could have been asked that know show choir just as well.

It doesn't matter. It's still weird, and even if they judge them harder than they should - it still fiddles with what the results would be like. I don't like it one bit. They're both solid adjudicators, no doubt about that ... but seriously? It would be way different if more time had passed, but I'm sure they both know the majority of their students on stage by name (seeing as Frank just quit this year and Mike last year), and when you can put a name to a face ... well, whatever. I don't think it's going to really effect the results, but if I was the director or performer of another group, it'd be easy to complain about unfair judging and bring up controversy after the competition, so I don't think this was a smart choice to allow one let alone two directors formerly associated with competing groups.

I agree. Bianchi is only one year out, so most of those kids upstage were "his". Might be different ten years from now, but it's just not right to me.

Doesn't matter how good they are or how much they know about show choir - an affiliation is still an affiliation, and I can see how a good number of groups attending this competition could potentially have a lot to raise their eyebrows about.

Mike and Frank know show choir probably better than anyone. I think that they would be tougher on their old groups than anything because they know the groups potential.

won't it be a little weird if teays valley and medina are there with their old directors, Mike Crandall
Frank Bianchi, adjudicating?

FYI:If you are using mapquest to get to the high school do not follow the directions to GHHS instead follow address 4900 turney rd garfield heights OH 44125 otherwise you will be going to the old high school which is on the other side of town lol

Here are my predictions. These are for the most part based off of last year, Teays Valley is the only group at this comp that i have seen... i haven't seen any of the other groups, so my apologies if i leave out a choir, it would most likely be because i have never seen them before.

GC- Marysville
1RU-Teays Valley
2RU- Homestead
3RU- Solon
4RU- Medina
5RU- Midland/Poca

Glad to see Ron Jones back on the judging circuit... I haven't seen him on it since 04..

I remember seeing him at Twinsburg last year. I beleive that he was judging the Single-Gender groups, but i could be mistaken. All i know is that he was there for something or other. lol
