I don't know about that, Adam. Didn't Johnston win it last year? That being said, I would still go to Kennedy.

I think it's supposed to be for smaller schools. Johnston was supposed to compete at Kennedy last year, but they decided against making the trip over because of the icy weather. At the last minute they contacted SE Polk to see if they could compete there and they said come on over.

Here's my story. 2005 was the first year that Kennedy held a show choir competition. The years before they held some sort of clinic. Anyways... the first Kennedy Invitational was held the first weekend of February, which happened to be our "Girl ask Guy" school dance. I was supposed to go to this dance with a friend of mine... but about 2-3 weeks before the dance, I decided that I was going to attend the Kennedy Invitational instead of the dance. It sounds horrible that I would ditch my date for show choir (does it really surprise you? haha)... but... looking back on it, I made the correct decision. This invitational was amazing! I really want to return to see the impressive groups that will most likely attend. It seems like this is becoming the "Big Dance" or at least stealing away some of "Big Dance's" thunder.
The performance venue (the gym) is a bit small... but Kennedy makes it work... I would pick this "intimate" competition over a big barn any day. Instead of chasing my alma mater, I'll be sitting at Kennedy.
