I just got to my house. The drive wasn't horrible (but of course I wasn't behind the wheel). We went about 50 mph the whole way and it took about three hours total to get to from the front door of C.R. Kennedy to UHS.
Anyone know if Urbandale made it home alright. I heard that might of had to stay over night at Kennedy.
Since the awards ended around 4:30, they left to go back to Des Moines. I'm not sure if they're back. The section of 1-80 that they were traveling on was NOT closed, so they should be fine.
Here's how Urbandale was able to go to Kennedy and Johnston wasn't. Urbandale was able to take charter buses to Cedar Rapids. Johnston was taking school buses. It all worked out okay though, Johnston had a great time at SE Polk (I've also been told that their contest had the best walking tacos as well " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

Xavier's prep wasn't going to compete at all today since Xhileration was going to Sioux City East. So I'm guessing it was Davenport Central's prep. That being said the top 5 groups are all exceptional, so it ended up being a great competition!
