oh.

well then how come Grand Island had to cancel their competition??? Did the Iowa one come from the east and the Nebraska one is coming from the west? and are the storms just gonna hit western Iowa/eastern Nebraska at the same time and collide and make a huge natural disaster??? (sorry completely off-topic)

The only thing I have heard is that Urbandale "Vitality" had an amazing performance.

They expect to be done in like one or two hours.

I'm really glad that some groups were able to make it to Kennedy today!

I just received a phone call from Kennedy. It is correct that they are doing day round only.

Word on the street is there are NO finals competition here. Day round scores only.

We should have results by the beginning of the evening then.

i am NOT happy that johnston doesnt get to go to kennedy today. i guess the administrators were too worried about them getting home tonight; they didnt want to the choirs to be stuck in cedar rapids. i say just rent a hotel, because the parents would have been ok with it, and its not like they wouldnt have gotten back early in the morning anyway. urbandale gets to go...why not johnston? i see that the administration is still as lame as it was when i was in high school. grrrrrrrrrr.

oh well, at least they still get to compete today. but that makes me even less happy also, because i was home last night (urbandale) and booked it back here to iowa city so that i wouldnt have to get up super early to drive back to iowa city and then to cedar rapids this morning. i should have just stayed at home so i could have gone to SEP...since its only like, 20 minutes away from home. ugh, mother nature and administrators make me sick.

on a more positive note...good luck to everyone at kennedy!! everybody rock out and have a great time!

haha... Urbandale is still going

I can't believe it!!! That's just rediculous... Wonder if Johnston's principal has a degree in meteorology or something...

Any word on Urbandale? I'll be totally pissed if they were allowed to go but Johnston wasn't!

Johnston, unfortunately will not be attending the competition. The principal nixed the idea due to weather and travel conditions. They were, however, able to get in at South East Polk's contest, so at least they get to perform today.

That SUCKS!!!! (though I suppose it's good they are at least able to perform somewhere...)

I just got home from setting up the gym . . .

Yet, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow (later today).
As long as there's nothing big goes wrong, it'll be a great day for everyone.
Good luck to all the groups competing. (and safe travels)

-Chris

Adam DID predict something though. And his prediction DID make sense- it's not like he predicted that the 1982 Mt. Zion Swingsations would win and take Best Vocals, and my dog would take Choreography and 1st Runner Up.

He's seen both Johnston and Urbandale in previous seasons, and he's seen the results from each of their competitions thus far this season.

And I mean, he prefaced the prediction with a ":-P"! It's not like it was notarized and authorized by Storm Ziegler or something.

It's not like his prediction is factored into the scoring tomorrow- it's JUST A PREDICTION!

Where is there a rule that your prediction HAS to make sense, or be fact-based- or that you can't form an opinion about a competition or group without seeing their show??? Again, I will reiterate- this is SCC. Blind predictions are FAIRLY common around here. People form opinions about groups based on pictures, or videos they've seen on YouTube. People will post a prediction just so they can put the groups they want in the top 6 spots. It might make some of us crazy to read ridiculous, uninformed opinions on here, but that's part of being on here- this is an internet discussion board, not a MENSA meeting.

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone Ana.
