Rumor has it Xavier will be going to Kennedy instead of Souix City.
If that's true... WOO GOO!
I know Xavier would probably love going to East since they have gone there for the past few years... but I would love to see them do well here competing against tough show choirs. (not that East's aren't tough enough) I hope this is true!
It's our first competition since Johnston. We also performed in exhibition at our invite and spent two days working with Damon Brown to polish the show for the remainder of the year and Showstoppers. This is the first of four weeks in a row that we will be competing. Our kids are really hungry to get back to it, so I hope the weather cooperates.

I just think with this being Urbandales first competition since Linn Mar (correct me if I'm wrong please) and Johnston having won GC last week, and also with their director leaving... i just feel an "upset".

I was considering going to this competition if I couldn't make it out to Indianapolis to support my favorite show choir Chesterton, but now I don't think I'm leaving my apartment until like June when there's no snow or ice storms. This is the first weekend since Viterbo on January 6 that I haven't been at a competition. I almost feel guilty.

"The Kennedy Show Choir Invitational will be held as scheduled. Any changes in the schedule will be announced to the directors of participating groups no later than 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Any changes will also be announced on local media outlets. But for now, we'll see you all Saturday morning!"

The forecast this morning was for ice storms in NE Iowa on Friday night and heavy snow Saturday night into Sunday with the heaviest concentrations in eastern Iowa. Lets hope the forecasters are wrong once again and the system misses us. I'm not looking forward to a white knuckle bus ride that takes four hours to get from Cedar Rapids to Des Moines on Sunday morning.
I was just thinking that exact same thing! And it sucks even more because I'm thinking of coming in from Chicago...

When has there been a close competition between Johnston and Urbandale?
maybe in the past few years the competition hasnt been close, as in placings and points, but the intensity has always been there. johnston and urbandale are like, 5 minutes away from each other, and we have always been each others archrivals in everything. so yeah...close competition.
