I have to say that this year, our competition was a blast!!! We enjoyed having all those amazing groups and it was awesome to see everyone enjoying themselves!!! I really hope you all had as much fun as I did!!!
I had the AMAZING pleasure of hosting Encore Singers from Totino, Fridley. They were absolutely wonderful!!! I'm sad that this will be my last year hosting...I'm a senior. But I had so much fun getting to know everyone. You all have amazing personalities and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all in a couple weeks at your competition. I'm so proud of all of you and I feel so privileged to have been able to host you. Keep in touch!!!

Well my friend and I drove down for finals and we had a ton of fun at Waconia. We were driving down and we get a call from a friend of mine in Encore and they were freaking out because they had made finals. Needless to say we got really excited because we got to see Encore perform in finals. Here are just a couple of thoughts I had about some other groups:
Encore- You guys were awesome in finals. I could tell that you were just happy to be there and you didn't care what place you got. Congratulations on the win, I love your show this year.
Sauk- Your shows are always so different and I respect you for always being so "outside-the-box". I didn't know the story behind Pippin, so it would of been nice if I had some background so I could better understand why you were doing the things that you were doing.
Waubonsie Valley- You guys have improved so much since we saw you at Milton. You had a very solid show in finals and I personally thought that your group was going to win best vocals. Great job, good luck with the rest of your season!
Iowa City West- This was the first time that I saw your show this year. Your vocals were great. I really liked the ballad and the rubber ducky song. I wasn't a huge fan of Could it be Magic (but I didn't even like the song when Company did it last year). Great job last night!
Bemidji- You guys were awesome! I liked your show when I saw it at Linn-Mar, but I like it a lot more now. Don't listen to what John and Wes are saying because I have already claimed you as the group that I am hosting at Spectacular (since I hosted you last year). I am looking forward to seeing you in two weeks!
Mitchell- Your show was great. I thought the choreography was awesome and very clean, but I wish I could have gotten more from you vocally. I think that if you work to develop a better vocal sound you could place a lot higher.
After watching finals I thought that the places would be like this:
1st- Bemidji (Best Choreo)
2nd- Waubonsie Valley (Best Vocals)
3rd- Mitchell
4th- Jefferson
5th- Iowa City West
6th- Sauk
7th- Encore (I liked your show better then Sauk, but I think Sauk just had a better vocal sound)
Thanx to everyone who came to our comp. this year!! It was such a blast and I had so much fun meeting new people. Leading ladies, you guys were so sweet to us {your hosts} I loved the message some of you left on my phone wishing me luck before I went on to perform for everyone. You cuties!!! You guys were amazing and I'm way excited to see you guys again in a couple weeks. PS I love your directors!! Brent and Mary... you guys were so rad and it was a pleasure to meet you

lol, that's funny! i thought i heard somebody start chanting "Burbank, Burbank, Burbank..." behind us back in the bleachers......and then i decided it was just the sequin haze i was in after all those great groups!! hahaha! or it could've been the sugar coma after all those chocolate chip cookies.......
congratulations to all the fantastic performers yesterday at Waconia. it was an honor to adjudicate and comment on your shows!!

And when my friends would come and i would be like that brett carrol they would be like who? and i was like hes only the director of BURBANK!! Then they were like ohh!! You were just funny to watch judge!! And we always made random comments about you... Like oh man brett is eating his cookie!! then we all said bye to you when you were leaving but i dunno if you heard us!! Oh and burbank is sweet otherwise i dont no lol

So this weekend was the best one yet. I officially LOVE waconia! i want to come back again sooo bad now! I loved our hosts- so anyone that knows them (Andy & Kathryn? I believe) tell them we had a realllly good time! I loved the sign our door, it was soo cute!
Also, I have to say that I am really sad I missed the guy from Northern Lights who won best male soloist singing in our room. I still can't believe i missed him. he was amazing!
To all the Class A competitors- we really enjoyed competing against you.. it was a good
competition and you all did really well! Good luck the rest of the year!

I loved everyones show that i saw and i think it was an awesome competition! Everyone is getting better and better each week and its fun to see!

Waconia: After seeing your show tonight I was shocked at how you placed at hastings. I thought you really committed to the show, and your ballad was gorgeous! yes and no..tons of company was there to watch, but we did not compete.
YAY ENCORE!!!!! This day was insane. My favorite part of the day was walking into the competition, guitar on hand and WALKING ON STAGE FOR ENCORE JUST IN TIME!!! I had to run a light show in the northern suburbs, so when I found out Encore made finals, I had about 55 minutes to be on stage. Needless to say I sped slightly and had someone else finish my job... Encore, Awesomeness!!

Oh wow what a great comp!!! Yey John(logomaker) got the results perfectly from me!! haha we beat everyone lol!! Great comp waconia!!! I had a blast with my friends!! Gosh i never new how long a real comp. was!! We were there from the first group (Pop Singers) all the way to Waconia performing after finals!! Hehe I picked everything correct in finals but wow some amazing performances!! and great job to everyone today!! Gosh i am soo tired right now!! Oh yah!! The judge Brett Caroll(sumthin like that) is cool!! lol I doubt he knew that we were talking about him!! But it was funny!!! WTG Brett!!!
