Yeah, we have all of our judges do finals to give multiple opinions and to put new points of view into the scores.
That is a lot of judges. I can see how the evening show could be extremely competitive with so many people and so many different preferences. This is going to be really fun.

wait, so do the critiques judge in finals?
if so, are there seriously gonna be like... 12 judges for finals?! that's a lot!
The top group from the Auditorium makes it. As you can see, on the schedule that you have read thoroughly, prep groups are in the gym with us.
I just read through the Director's packet, and unless the wording is wrong, the top five scoring show choirs from the gym will make finals. This means if a prep group scores in the top 5, they will make finals- however, they could win their class and still be outscored by all of the Varsity groups, and NOT make finals.
Come on Wes! You can do this!
Here is the Auditorium schedule:

Does anybody actually know if the prep groups can make finals or can the varsity/4A choirs only make finals in the gym?

WOW what a GREAT lineup of judges!!! I have so much respect for every judge in the gym, and while I only know two of the auditorium judges they are both AWESOME! I'm very excited for this competition!!!
So, out of curiousity, what do those of you who've been here before even think of our competition? I know I've been helping out with it since I was in 5th grade, so I'm extremely biased...but it always seemed pretty fun and laid back to me.

WHooops thanks ana!!! didnt realize that the top prep makes it!! omg the top prep!!! thats goin to be sweet!!! hopefully everyone does well!! this comp is goin to be a blast!! and even a fun solo comp!! sweet
Actually Wes, if you had read the schedule thoroughly, you would have noticed only 5 groups from the Varsity/ 4A division make finals. ;) Look alive Wes.
It might seem small, but keep in mind that Cedar Rapids Jefferson has almost 50 ensembles total competing in jazz, concert, and show choir divisions- not to mention a full pop solo competition schedule.
Sorry I haven't posted the other schedules yet- I'm knee deep in things to get done for our competition, Nashville, and Cedar Rapids.
so only 6 varsity groups? so everyone is in finals wow i dont think i have ever been to a small comp like this, but i think i will it will still be great!! I really cant wait for this one!!
~Wes
Not quite. One of the 4A groups will not make it. It's five 4A/Varisty groups and the winner from the Auditorium that will compete in finals.
