I think FC is going to be gunning for EEE and Marysville and findlay vice versa. i just realized that they see all those groups 3 times...

By the 23rd i think this is how things will shape up...

GC: Clinton Attache
1 RU: Franklin Central (hopefully not just wishful thinking here)
2 RU: Hurricane
3 RU: Marysville
4 RU: Findlay
5 RU: Eisenhower.

I SERIOUSLY think that if franklin Central went last or 2nd to last in Finals that this is how it could work out... Knowing their luck they'll go first and end up in 5th or 6th... Anyone have a Schedule for Prelims?

OMG it's not even February yet dude! Chill out on the Schedule! Dang!

GC: Clinton
1st: Marysville/Eisenhower
2nd: Marysville/Eisenhower
3rd: Findlay
4th: Hurricane
5th Franklin Central/Zionsville

We just got done doing room asignments for the competition! Im very happy with who I get to host and this should be so much fun. We have so many junior high gruops coming that are very good. Someone in our group was like we should have a finals for them. lol Cause i think theres like 8 juniors or something like that. I would have to check, but there all very good.

Man I am excited for this competition..its going to be nuts..I kinda dont want to go because of how deadly the place is going to be, hopefully good sportsmanship holds up! There are only 6 finals spots, and easily more than that many groups that consistently make finals..so keep up the good spirits everyone!

1st- Eisenhower
2nd- Marysville
3rd- Findlay
4th- Hurricane
5th- Zionsville

I think that Franklin Central will take Zionsville's place. After losing a finals spot last year I don't think they'll let it happen again. Also, I agree with the GC, not with them taking EVERYTHING (choreography definitely!). But the other spots could go anyway! These guys are fierce beyond belief!

Eric's Predictions:

GC: Clinton
1st: Eisenhower/Findlay/Franklin Central/Hurricane/Marysville
2nd: Eisenhower/Findlay/Franklin Central/Hurricane/Marysville
3rd: Eisenhower/Findlay/Franklin Central/Hurricane/Marysville
4th: Eisenhower/Findlay/Franklin Central/Hurricane/Marysville
5th: Eisenhower/Findlay/Franklin Central/Hurricane/Marysville

Vocals: Clinton/Hurricane/Findlay
Choreography: Clinton
Band: Clinton/Findlay
Show: Clinton/Eisenhower/Franklin Central/Marysville
Costumes: Clinton

Predictions are an interesting enterprise. Many of us, when making predictions, are really saying which choirs we think will do best (or, rather, which ones we'll like best), instead of which choirs we think will actually place where. I pretty much agree with show choirNerd's assesment of the judges, although I can think of a few choirs who will probably not be too happy with Verda Slinkard's assesment of their performace.

It's interesting to venture back to the show choir world as see Broadway being viewed as that which is traditional, since leaving high school and doing music in college Broadway is now viewed by my environment as decidedly unworthy of its attentions.

Anyway, Findlay, Franklin Central, Clinton, Hurricane, Beavercreek, and Eisenhower will likely comprise this finals group. I'd predict:

GC: Clinton
1st RU: Eisenhower
2nd RU: Findlay
3rd RU: Franklin Central
4th RU: Hurricane
5th RU: Beavercreek

One new addition- Johns Hill Middle School "Xperience!" will also be competing in the jr. high division. We're definitely full with 31 awesome choirs performing in one day!

Well considering VanCleave did the whole "Broadway in the schools" that he boasts about in his bio... I would assume so ;).

That and if you look at the shows that he did at Laff Jeff when he was there with Kevin Butler... Very broadway heavy.

Also... in reply to my last post... Ly Tartell is a very tough vocal judge and the one thing FC always has on their side is their excellent sound, though last year was a tough year for them... over half of them were sophomores and Freshmen... but the year prior... they took vocals over EEE and Dekalb at MTZ's contest and at Prelims at fame Branson were in second place quite close to Clinton. Who knows what they'll do this year... i'm SOOO excited for this contest and having said all that... my predictions still stand...
