it's funny how two Alabamians can turn a thread based on an Ohio comp into a thread based on Alabama show choirs in just a few posts " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
I understand what you're saying, and for the most part I agree. I just thought it to be extremely unfair to say that we would never win an AL or MS comp. I mean, do you honestly think that Petal or Clinton had a name in the show choir world the first few years that they were put in the large school division? Yeah, Homewood, Opelika, and Enterprise are great Southern show choirs, but the only show choirs in the South right now that could compete with any show choir in the United States is Petal and Clinton.
VERY TRUE.
Dude, I REALLY didn't want to piss anybody off, especially someone from "Sweet Home" Alabama ;) . Anyway, I'm sorry if something that I said made you mad, and I hope you prove me wrong. I will be pulling for you guys at Opelika. See ya then.

Albertville is VERY good vocally... NO DOUBT. You should see Enterprise they are AWESOME, and Homewood is VERY GOOD too.
Remember though, I have been following these show choirs for the last 7 years... this is NOT and opinion on last year, but over the last several years.
I thought Albertiville shouldve beaten Opelikas ass last year. Albertvilles show wasnt all that, but they could still sing better than Opelika by far. I havent seen Homewood and Enterprise, but i saw Opelika and please dont think ur better than Albertville. This is of course my opinion, but Vocally, u have to admit, Albertville, was better than alot of those southern groups last year.
but you can't judge a group purely off of one comp...last year was definately a rebuilding year, and I think we accomplished a lot, but to go as far as to say that we've never beat Homewood, Enterprise, or Opelika...or to say that we'll never win a competition in Alabama or Mississippi, that's saying alot. As of right now, we've never won a comp in Alabama or Mississippi, but we have beaten Homewood and Enterprise. if you haven't checked the Belmont results from last year, I'd strongly suggest you do so. Now I'm not saying this because I think we're better than other groups, because yes, overall Homewood, Enterprise, and Opelika are better than us, but they are beatable...and I think we proved it last year. I'd look out for Albertville this year, you might not reconize us.
I don't know you to well Trey, but for the most part of what I've read that you've posted, I think you're an alright guy and we agree on alot of subjects...but it's not neccesary to say such bold comment like "but they could NOT win a comp in Alabama or Mississippi." Right now, I can't say if we've beaten Opelika or not...the main reason I can't is because I can't remember what comps we saw each other at...but I can say that we most definatley did beat Enterprise and Homewood.
Okay, my bad. You're right. I am judging you guys on one competition that I saw you in Opelika. I was simply surprised that you guys won at Mentor last year. It was a rebuilding year like you said, so I was trying to judge that competition and its competitiveness. But, NOT to take anything away from you guys. I'm VERY GLAD that you won, and PROUD of the way you represented the state of Alabama.
Let me make myself clear though... I LOVE ALBERTVILLE ;) I pull for you guys in EVERY competition and hope that you win (except when Opelika is competing ;) ). I remember back in like 1998 and 1999 when you had a guys number where everyone was dressed in Construction Attire. That was GREAT.
I hope the BEST to Albertville this year and I can't wait to see you in Opelika.

Yeah they did, shocking isn't it after seeing them last year. That shows how many good groups were at Mentor last year.
is that a diss 2 the groups there?!? sounds like it could and couldn't!!!
I'm NOT sure if he meant it that way, and I don't mean to be offensive to Albertville or the other groups there, but there show last year was less than great.
A couple of years ago, they used to be the dominate choir in Div. II (smaller) show choirs... but once the moved up with the big boys, they have yet to beat some of the better choirs in Alabama.
Last year at Opelika's Southern Showcase, Enterprise HS and Homewood HS both beat Albertville soundly, and they have yet to place higher than those 2 show choirs as well as Opelika HS since they have moved up to Div I. Thses are just the show choirs in Alabama that are better than Albertville.
If I were to rank the top 5 Alabama show choirs, it would go like this...
I'm NOT trying to offend anyone, but Albertville is a good... NOT GREAT show choir. Don't get me wrong, I love Albertville and there shows, but they could NOT win a comp in Alabama or Mississippi and they do good to finish around 3rd (from the times I've seen them the last 6 years -- and YES I did see their show last year).
Please don't take this the wrong way... I love you Albertville.
uh... that's the same date as our own competition lol. so we arent gonna be there, just to clear that up. maybe u were thinking of brush, where alot of the schools are the same as these?
SOMEONE HAS BROWNIE POINTS!! Thanks Yuri for puttin Brush in 2nd
In a completely biased order!!!
GC- Euclid (You getchos!!)
1ru-Brush (We Rock!!!
2ru-Solon (I love ya sweetie)
3ru-Garfield Heights (Sorry Paul It's Biased)
4ru-Sissonville (Don't know your show, and never seen ya)
5ru-Cuyahoga Falls (Ben your show is catchy)
lol. yes brandon, that's weird. Especially since no one has seen our show this year, so they can only judge by last year. and last year we did beat all of those groups, except Beavercreek (we didn't compete versus them) multiple times, meaning more than once. hehe, it's cool tho. I say (in order)
Sissonville (much love, Vanessa )
Brush
Solon
Garfield
Cuyahoga Falls
... and then plug Euclid somewhere in there (I don't like ranking my own show choir, when it comes to predictions).
