Ugh I can't imagine having to perform at 7:30 AM. Good luck to all the groups that have to perform soooo eaarrrlllyyyyyy!
(And good luck to all groups, too, obviously )
Performance schedule is posted! While HOA Orlando is getting a lot of buzz (rightfully so), SCN has quite a line-up this year as well. I don't think there's as much a clear favorite here, but it will still be an absolute battle for the 6 finalists spots. It's a deep field. Anything could happen.
Agreed. Although the last time CR Kennedy and Fairfield went head-to-head at SCN 2012, CR Kennedy won. Fairfield also has another new director this year, so I wouldn't quite yet call them a SCN favorite. Interestingly enough, North Central hasn't been to a national competition since FAME NY 2009... they haven't even really been outside of Indianapolis, let alone out-of-state, since then.
Fairfield may have a director but that class of performers that are in there are arguably the most talented to have gone through there. After the results of last year with the new director I would say they’re most definitely a favorite . It’s a pretty neat line up. With Fairfield having beat Daniel Hand and losing to North Central (although controversial). And we can’t forget ATSC. It’ll also be nice to see how Findlay does. They’ll face off against Fairfield earlier in the season so we can see how they match up. Very interesting line up.
I think that the new director this year is a positive thing. So far he's shaken a lot if things up and from what I've seen I think we're upon a renaissance :D
Going off of what Jay said; Let me be the first to say performance time truly does not matter as much as people assume it does. Fairfield might perform on Thursday at 9am, but that alone will not be enough to feasibly predict them to receive 3RU or 4RU like some of these other predictions are saying
This will be my 3rd time attending as a director. I have seen all the groups that perform really early, in prelims and finals. I guess I can definitely tell that it’s harder to sing at 9 am than noon. That’s mostly what I was saying.
