wow they are going to a lot of new competitions this year! they havent been to Fort Atkinson for a little while, same with pike (i think the last time was 2002 for both???). sauk is the only returning competition! Jefferson is mixing a LOT of things up this year and i cant wait to see them!

Why is Jefferson staying in Cedar Rapids so much this year? They are competing at Kennedy and Linn-Mar while hosting their contest. Usually the closest they come to competing in their own city is Benton.

i would hafta disagree. i think Linn-Mar deserved that 3rd place. however i do not think they should've tied kennedy. jefferson deserved the best vocals and washington deserved the best choreography. i think Linn-Mar shouldve 2nd in vocals and fourth in choreography (kennedy had better choreo than them in my opinion). that's sad though that none of the Cedar Rapids schools have a competition where they compete against each other like at Benton that year. i think that would be awesome. why dont we all go to at least one competition together?

I mean come on, look how competitive (and sometimes nasty) we all are ALREADY. All of us at the same competition? Yeah right.
Yeah, back in the day Linn-Mar used to attend Benton's competition. And in 2001-02 (Linn-Mar's "Children of the Revolution" year) Linn-Mar got royally screwed by the judges and received a tie for 3rd place with Kennedy. Jefferson won that competition. That year, Linn-Mar won every other competition they attended (Mount Pleasant, Mo Show, and Sioux Falls). They have never been back to Benton.
In my opinion they perhaps didn't deserve to beat Jefferson. But they should have been a SUPER close 1st Runner up.

I thought it was a good competition, and it was our best placing the entire year, so I know that might influence our directors decision, but i do know that we are going to Waconia and Sioux City East again.
And our stock in Show Choir politics has upped too, due to adding Damon Brown and Tara Tober as choreographers.
I do hope they go back, i had a good time at that comp.

If you guys are going to Waconia... you aren't going to Cedar Rapids Kennedy... I am pretty sure those competitions are on the same day.
