This competition is going to be insane!! If we weren't competing down in Kansas City this is definitely where I'd be! Just with the predictions I've had to put in some serious thought.
Predictions
GC- Ankeny Centennial (Sweep)
1RU- Kennedy
2RU- Washington
3RU- Totino-Grace
4RU- Iowa City High
5RU- Bettendorf
I feel like even though there are four VERY strong groups competing, Centennial will still pull away at this one, even if its not by a large margin. The Cedar Rapids schools (Wash, Jeff, Kennedy) are all three bringing the heat this year with amazing shows. I've seen all three and they are all about at the same level so to put one ahead of the other was just random. I hate putting my friends from Totino all the way back at fourth because I've heard a few details about the show and it sounds stellar and they were awesome last year but the level of the CR schools to me, this year is going to be hard to beat. Even caption wise this ones tough, both Wash and City High have outstanding bands but I feel like Centennial just keeps getting better by the year. Good luck to all those competing!!
I'll be honest... if I could teleport from Muscatine to Linn Mar on the day of the competition to see one thing... it would be 10th Street's exhibition show!
Linn mar is one of my favorite competitions! Gonna be a fun and exciting day! With wash coming off a grand championship & city high placing well at a tough prairie competition to the powerhouses that are Totino Grace, ankeny centennial and Kennedy. WHO KNOWS WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN! Even the prep category is gonna be crazy! Super excited and can't wait for next weekend!
Bahaha. Apparently I should just not have posted the original schedule, especially the prep division.
Looks like Ankeny Centennial has switched all of its prep groups around. According to the Supernova website, Rhythmic Momentum will be performing at 8:40, Project X will be at 11:00, and Eternal Rush will be at 1:18. This honestly makes a bit more sense with how they make up their groups.
By the way, Linn-Mar has a "Prep Exhibition" slot on their finals schedule, so I'm assuming prep groups are ineligible for finals this year. Looks like the division winner will be performing after 10th Street and before the first finalist.
GC: Ankeny Centennial (BV, BC,)
1RU: CR Kennedy
2RU: CR Washington (BB)
3RU: Totino-Grace
4RU: IC High
5RU: CR Kennedy "Protege"/ 1 of the 3 Ankeny Prep groups
Honestly amazed by how many people each Ankeny group has... With all the experience the JV groups are getting, Spectrum will continue to get better each year... and who would've thought they could get better after last year props to them!!
Not too many 4 choir programs in this area! But, probably a good decision, considering last year I had trouble seeing everyone on stage at once in their mixed prep. There had to have been 70-80 kids onstage, right?!?!?!?!
A friend of mine said there were 96 total..............................eep

Right, I just wasn't sure how they divided up their program. When Wash had 4 show choirs (and 3 prep groups) two were considered 10-12 prep. One was still freshmen only. It looks like they have a women's choir, but I don't think any other choir at Supernova is going to be Single-Gender. After that, is one mostly freshman? I don't have any idea.
Centennial does have four choirs in their program this year.

10:35 Linn-Mar "In-Step" - EX
11:15 Final Awards Ceremony
The varsity division starts with Bettendorf at 1:45. I did not find a specification about the Prep Division, whether there would be a 9th grade division also. Normally, if there are enough groups (3 in the past) they have had a separate 9th division. I know this year at Prairie, City High's prep group is competing in the 9th grade, so it could be that every choir before 11 am is a 9th Grade group. I am not sure. Chanteurs, Vivace, and at least 1 Centennial group have competed in 9th division in previous years (not sure now that there are 4 choirs from Ankeny).
