Emaleigh was born and raised in the small town of Pelahatchie Mississippi. She has trained with Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet under the direction of Jennifer Beasley and Crystal Skelton in styles of ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and pointe. Here she got many opportunities to travel with the South East Regional Ballet Association and participate in dance festivals with other companies, as well as take master classes with artists such as Thom Clower and Andrew Brader. In her middle school years she was accepted into Pisgah's award winning show choir "Innergy" under the direction of Linsey Smith along with the school's varsity dance team. With Innergy, Emaleigh was able to grow her love of show choir choreography with opportunities to choreograph for their Fall and Spring concerts as well as work with their junior high group "Prodigy" for two years. She continued with these teams along with her dance training at MMB until her graduation in May 2020.
She has recently finished her education at The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree in Dance Performance and Choreography.
Emaleigh not only has experience in wide ranges of choreography but also cleaning, show designing, judging, and conditioning for show choirs. She has also been an attendant and counselor of Showchoir Camps of America and the Jackson-prep Show Choir Master Camp. She has worked with groups across MS such as Pisgah "Innergy", Morton "One-Accord", and Purvis "Pizzaz", all receiving awards under her choreography!
“My goal as a choreographer is to expand upon what classic show choir should be. I bring in my knowledge as a trained dancer into the classrooms to generate more creative movement and make sure it is done safely and efficiently! I love to work with any level of dancer and all ages. ANYONE can be a great dancer in my eyes.”
