Lorenda Carr was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a Dance Performance major at Ball State University. She is the owner of Circle City Dance Productions, LLC, founder and director of Circle City Tap Company, Circle City Tap Festival, co-founder of Midwest Open Rhythm Exchange (M.O.R.E.) and is currently the Director of Competition Teams at Interactive Academy.
With 25+ years of teaching and performing experience, Lorenda boasts a very diverse background in dance and theater having taught and choreographed for numerous high school choirs and musicals, dance companies, dance camps, theaters, and competition dance programs. She has taught various styles of dance (competitive and non) to all ages. Lorenda's true passion is tap dancing and can often be seen performing with her company (CCTC), tap festivals, as a guest performer for Tap 24.7's "In The Pocket" in Arizona, and most recently “The Rhythm Chronicles” at Indy Fringe Theater Festival. She continues her dance education by traveling the country studying from various tap masters as well as organizing master classes throughout the Midwest.
In the interest of creating a better community through dance, Lorenda volunteers as Production Manager for the Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County annual fundraising event, "Dancing with Our Stars".
