Scott Rains earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Music Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. In 1985 Mr. Rains started a new Choral Program for Albertville City Schools in Albertville, Alabama. During his 29 year tenure with Albertville City Schools the Choral Program grew to include three competitive show choirs and various vocal ensembles involving more than 300 students in grades 7-12. Albertville CenterStage! Won many State and Regional titles under his direction. In 2014 Albertville CenterStage! CenterStage! was honored to be the featured Show Choir at the Southeasern Division ACDA Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Rains is currently Director of Choral Music for Tift County Schools in Tifton, Georgia where he oversees music education in grades 6-12 and directs the Tift County High School Concert Choir and the Ladies’ Choice and Eighth Street Singing Company Show Choirs. Mr. Rains is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators’ Association and National Association for Music Education. He has also served as the Alabama ACDA Show Choir Standards and Repertoire Chair.
