Michael Rafter has served in various music positions for Broadway, Off Broadway, international productions and national tour shows including: Everyday Rapture, Jersey Boys, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Sound of Music, The King & I, Gypsy, Les Miserables, The Tap Dance Kid, Sweet Charity, Swing, Sunset Boulevard, Buddy, Merrily We Roll Along and last season’s, Violet. He has been touring the world as Sutton Foster’s music director/arranger/pianist over the past few years. Film credits include Did You Hear About the Morgans?, the remake of Arthur and Music & Lyrics. Mr. Rafter’s television credits include Bravo’s Broadway’s Best, Gypsy (Emmy for music direction) and working with various artists such as Trisha Yearwood, Kevin Bacon, Mandy Moore and Cyndi Lauper. He is the Co-Founder of Destination Broadway, a summer camp for 8 – 18 year olds and is currently music director/arranger on the upcoming revival of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Rafter is the proud father of Siena, a senior at the La Guardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
