John is a show choir assistant with the Northridge Choral Department. John Davis attended DeKalb High School, it was at DeKalb where John began to focus on his musical talents. During his years at DeKalb he was involved with show choir, backup band, solo contests and concert choir. He participated in Classic Connection as a singer/dancer and played the synthesizer and guitar for the women’s group, Sound Sensation. While in show choir, John competed at the state and national level. Being trained and critiqued by some of the best show choir clinicians and directors in the nation. He was also student director and held lead roles in the many different musicals. During and after high school John has led church worship teams in Northern Indiana and Michigan, as well as leading worship for hundreds of youth and adults in Christian Camps in the Midwest.
In January of 2013, John came to Northridge to assist with Northern Lights, Starlights and Northern Lights Orchestra. In September of 2013, John joined the directing staff as the Northern Lights Orchestra Director. Under John’s direction as the director NLO, they were recognized as the Best Instrumental group at the State and National level as well as receiving other caption awards throughout the State of Indiana. Starting in 2016-2017, John will be starting a new role as the Show Choir Assistant, working with parent volunteers, Northern Lights and Starlights. John also runs the website and has many other responsibilities throughout the year within the Choir Department. John is married to his lovely wife Andrea Davis and has a beautiful one-year-old daughter, his little Starlight, Claire Jean. When John is not working with the choir department at Northridge, he enjoys watching movies, being involved with his church and spending time with his family, friends and show choir colleagues!
