Laura Grimm teaches in the Johnston Community School District. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College, and her Master’s of Music Education from Kent State University. Laura conducts the 9th grade mixed choir and 9th Grade Chamber choir in Johnston with 250 students involved. She also takes an active role in ICDA Opus Honor Choir where she has had over 250 students selected. Laura directs the show choir “Sound Advice” at Johnston. She has also directed the prep show choir at Urbandale High school “Vitality.” Laura was formerly the director at Regis Middle School in Cedar Rapids. Her show choirs have won countless Grand Championships, along with many caption awards including Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band and Outstanding Soloist awards. Laura is also a freelance choreographer and has served as a show choir clinician and adjudicator for several programs around the mid-west. She has also been the guest conductor at several area ICDA Honor Choirs. Laura and her husband Brandon live in Urbandale with their two beautiful daughters, Scarlet and Violet!
